RETIREE HEALTH CONTRIBUTION. Employees hired on or after January 1, 2012 are not eligible for any Authority-paid retiree health contribution. In the event that the Library Board confers retiree health benefits to such employees in the future, such action shall be subject to change or elimination by the Board at any time, and shall not be considered to have created a vested right to any such benefit. Authorization of any such benefits shall be effective only if expressly approved by resolution of the SPL Board on a year-by-year basis. No resolution or other writing, and no practice of any type, shall be construed, singly or in combination, (a) to constitute an implied-in-fact contract, or (b) to deprive the Board of its ability to decide on an annual basis whether or not the benefit shall be continued or conferred to employees.
RETIREE HEALTH CONTRIBUTION. All employees covered by this MOU will contribute two percent (2%) of their regular rate of pay through payroll deduction to a fund maintained by the Santa Xxx Police Officers Association for the purpose of providing retiree health insurance premium reduction assistance. County contributions for all bargaining units under this program shall not exceed 1.2% of total County payroll costs during any given fiscal year pursuant to the provisions of the Retiree Health Benefits Contribution Plan Document. The retiree health contribution rates will be calculated annually on a calendar year basis effective January 1 of each calendar year.

In lieu of the above and until July 1, 2003; retiring employees with twenty or more years of service with the County shall have a one-time irrevocable option to elect four years of contributions towards a County Sponsored Health Plan or Alternate County Sponsored Health Plan paid at the medical coverage employee-only rate (strictly health insurance, not to include dental and vision) in which the retiree is otherwise eligible to enroll.
RETIREE HEALTH CONTRIBUTION. Employees who retire after ten (10) years of employment in a benefited status (Full-Time Regular [FTR] or Part-Time Regular [PTR]) and attainment of age fifty-five (55) will be eligible to enroll for individual coverage in the Hospital sponsored HMO Plan, at their own expense, until the employee reaches age sixty-give (65) or becomes Medicare eligible, whichever occurs first. The maximum charge to a retiree for this plan shall be the COBRA premium for individual coverage. For employees who retire from employment (FTR or PTR) with twenty (20) or more years of benefitted employment (FTR or PTR) who are age sixty (60) but under age sixty-five (65), the Hospital will contribute an amount equal to $100 x years of benefitted service/12 towards the cost of the above coverage, commencing the first of the month following the employee’s attainment of age sixty (60) and ending when the employee reaches age sixty-five (65) or becomes Medicare eligible, whichever comes first. To be eligible for this benefit, the employee must enroll in the applicable HMO period no later than the open enrollment period preceding the employee’s retirement. For employees who retire from employment (FTR or PTR) with twenty (20) or more years of benefitted employment (FTR or PTR) at or over age sixty-five (65), the Hospital will contribute an amount equal to $50 x years of benefitted service / 12 towards the cost of the above coverage for a documented Medicare supplement plan for ten (10) years. It is the understanding of the parties that this language represents the current benefits with no changes.

The percentage contribution is as follows: Level 3 20 years plus 67% Level 2 15-19 years 50% Level 1 12-14 years 33% Part-time employment (excluding extra help and provisional) shall be treated in accordance with the Retiree Health Benefits Contribution Plan Document. County contributions for all bargaining units under this program shall not exceed 1.2% of total County payroll costs during any given fiscal year pursuant to the provisions of the Retiree Health Benefits Contribution Plan Document. Retiree health contribution rates will be recalculated annually on a calendar year basis effective January 1 of each calendar year. In lieu of the above and until December 31, 2002, retiring employees with twenty (20 ) or more years of service with the County of El Dorado shall have a one-time irrevocable option to elect four ( 4 ) years of contributions, at the Blue Shield employee- only rate, towards a County-Sponsored Health Plan or Alternate County- Sponsored Health Plan in which the retiree is otherwise eligible to enroll. Retired employees have the option to include eligible dependents at additional cost. Employees retiring under this provision will be eligible to enroll in another health plan of their choice, other than the plans offered by the County, and have the 4 years of the employee-only rate premium paid by the County of up to the amount of the Blue Shield employee-only premium rate. The County would reimburse the employee for the premium of the outside health plan on the employee's behalf. Retiree Health Insurance shall be discontinued for all newly hired employees effective the first full pay period following approval by the Board of Supervisors effective January 19, 2010.
