Common use of Rest Periods Clause in Contracts

Rest Periods. All bargaining unit employees shall be granted rest periods which, insofar as practical, shall be in the middle of each work period, at the rate of fifteen (15) minutes per three and three-quarters (3-3/4) hours worked or major fraction thereof. Specified periods may be designated only when the operations of the District require someone to be present at the employee's work site at all times. Such times shall be mutually agreed upon between employees and their supervisors. Rest periods are part of the regular workday and shall be compensated at the regular rate of pay for the employee.

Rest periods are part of a total of thirty (30) minutes on evening or special work shifts shall be scheduled to the mutual convenience of the regular workday employees and shall be compensated at the regular rate of pay for the employeesupervisors.

Specified periods may be designated only when the operations of the District require someone to be present worked, at the employee's work site at all times. Such times shall be mutually agreed upon between employees and their supervisors.
