Responsible Use. Digital citizenship is an essential 21st century skill. During the school year, your teachers and school staff will be reviewing appropriate online behavior and acceptable use of resources. It’s important to maintain a family dialogue about educational, recreational and social use of the Chromebook and other devices your student accesses. Chromebooks are connected to GoGuardian that is filtered for inappropriate material, but user responsibility is still the best way to avoid pitfalls in the online world. Remember Chromebook use is monitored. Here are a few tips: ● Use Internet devices in a central location at home, rather than behind closed doors. ● Help your student to focus on completing tasks and assignments before any recreational activities. ● Help your student solve technical glitches by recording exactly what went wrong and when. ● Ensure that your child understands that he or she should not give personal information to any person or any website without checking with an adult first. ● Talk with your student about cyberbullying--encouraging him/her to be kind and to communicate clearly online. ● Advise your student that anything they post, text, or upload may be forwarded, copied, and published to anyone--including future education admissions offices and employers. The Student agrees to: ● Take good care of the Chromebook in all locations. ● Bring the Chromebook to school every day, fully charged. ● Be a responsible digital citizen. ● Use the Chromebook for educational purposes. Only pursue personal interests that align with school policies. ● Report any damage or loss, whatever the cause, to your teacher as soon as possible. ● Take responsibility for any damage or loss caused by neglect or abuse. ● Follow the Student Acceptable Use Guidelines outlined in the Student Handbook. ● Return the Chromebook, Accessories and Case to OCESD at the end of the school year. Students who withdraw enrollment for any reason must return the Chromebook on or before the date of withdrawal.

Responsible Use. The device must be used for educational purposes and in accordance with the acceptable use policy and other college rules. Any use of a device deemed inappropriate by the college may result in the withdrawal of BYOD privileges and other consequences as deemed appropriate by the college.
Responsible Use. The school issued Chromebook is the property of the Hills-Beaver Creek School District which is loaning the device to the student for learning purposes only. Students are to follow the district’s Technology Use Policy at all times whether at school or not. To view this policy, please go to the high school website under “student handbook”. Students are not to loan the Chromebook issued to them to any other person including family members. Violation of the acceptable use agreement may result in disciplinary action. When Chromebook is used on a network outside of the H-BC School network, the Internet firewalls and filters are not in place. The school retains the right to check documents and history created by this device if deemed necessary • abide by the school’s Internet use agreement Taking care of the Chromebook • Bring the Chromebook fully charged to school each day • Report any damage to the device right away to Xx. Xxxxxxx • Don’t have food or beverages near the device • Don’t leave the device in extreme elements (cold, heat…) • Chromebook Management Software may not be removed from the device. • Carry the device in the provided case and or safely in a backpack. Be careful not to put heavy books on the Chromebook or other heavy items that could crack the screen.
Responsible Use. Technology and Internet use at Holy Name School, whether on a student-operated iPad or a school computer, is to be used for educational purposes that serve the school’s mission. It is expected that all Holy Name students will use the iPads respectfully and for the sole purpose of deepening and enriching their educational experiences at Holy Name School. The use of iPads in the classroom is a privilege, not a right. Students are expected to uphold the values and expectations set forth in the Mission Statement and the Code of Conduct as these two documents extend to the electronic world. When applicable, law enforcement agencies may be involved. Ø Unacceptable conduct and/or illegal interaction with the information service is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to: o Cyber bullying or anything that can be construed as cyber bullying, including sending or displaying offensive messages or pictures or harassing and violating others o Using the network for any illegal activity, including violation of copyright or other contracts o Vandalizing the data of another user o Wastefully using finite resources o Gaining unauthorized access to resources or entities o Accessing inappropriate matter on the Internet o Using technology capabilities for cheating o Using technology capabilities for communicating with other students during class o Disabling or attempting to disable school-installed software such as internet filtering and antivirus o Invading the privacy of individuals which includes but is not limited to accessing another person’s account and/ or files and taking pictures or videos of a student or teacher unknowingly o Posting personal communications without the author’s consent o Posting anonymous messages o Use of non-educational social media networks or apps during the school day which include but are not limited to Facebook, FormSpring, MySpace, InstaGram, and Twitt...

Responsible Use. Woodland Park School District expects that students will use District provided technology for purposes consistent with the curriculum. WPSD technology resources should be used primarily for class assignments and other learning activities. Only school related files should be stored in student accounts. It is expected that students will use the District’s technology resources efficiently, especially when other students are waiting to use them. Students are expected to take good care of District technology resources, leaving equipment and work areas in good condition. WPSD educates students on the appropriate use of technology at school, including topics such as proper research, citation methods, good communication practices (email and social networking) and internet behavior standards. Students are expected to adopt these academic practices, just as they would in any other subject area. Educational Practices: Safety & Privacy Woodland Park School District is committed to helping students develop safe online habits. We will provide educational opportunities and resources for each student in the safe use of technology. Students will learn about maintaining their online reputation and ensuring their personal safety by keeping their personal information private. Students are expected to follow safe practices when using the WPSD network and technology. School Site Policies & Practices These policies apply to all schools and students within WPSD. Individual schools and teachers may develop local policies and procedures, which may be more restrictive than District policies. Not all schools or teachers will use all types of software or hardware described in this document. Consequences of Violations Students who misuse WPSD’s technology resources will be subject to discipline which may include: ● Loss of technology privileges and access to the WPSD networks; ● School disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion; ● Legal prosecution if in violation of applicable local, state, or federal laws. If a student is accused of any violation, s/he has all of the rights and privileges that exist with other kinds of school infractions. Additionally, WPSD reserves the right to seek financial restitution for any loss caused through students’ carelessness or negligence.

Some inappropriate material is likely to pass through the filter. The following are some guidelines concerning the use of district technology and network services. Material created and/or stored on the system is not guaranteed to be private. Network administrators may review the system from time to time to ensure that the system is being used properly, but this will only be done when motivated by a legitimate reason. For this reason, staff members should know that a third party might view materials. All communications and information should be assumed to be property of the District.
