Response to Request. Upon the request for assistance from the Requesting Party, the Responding Official may authorize and direct its personnel to provide assistance to the Requesting Party. Whether the Responding party provides assistance and, if so, to what extent shall be determined by the Responding Official.

Response to Request. The Commanding Officer of the Responding Jurisdiction(s) receiving the request for assistance shall make available to the Commanding Officer of the Requesting Jurisdiction such personnel or equipment as is available to meet the needs of the Emergency. The Commanding Officer of a Participating Jurisdiction may decline the request for assistance if personnel or equipment are not available at the time of the request. No party to this agreement shall be liable for failure to respond to a request for assistance for any reason.

THE RESPONDING AGENCY SHALL BE THE SOLE JUDGE OF WHAT RESOURCES OR PERSONNEL IT HAS AVAILABLE TO FURNISH PURSUANT TO THIS AGREEMENT. BUILDING INSPECTORS FURNISHED TO REQUESTING AGENCIES UNDER THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT MUST BE, AS A MINIMUM, CERTIFIED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS (ICBO), THE BUILDING OFFICIALS AND CODE ADMINISTRATORS (BOCA), OR THE SOUTHERN BUILDING CODE CONGRESS INTERNATIONAL (SBCCI).
Response to Request. The party requested to provide assistance should respond to the request as soon as possible, indicate whether services will be provided, and if so, the extent of services that can be provided. If the responding party agrees to provide assistance, it should notify the requesting party as to the equipment and peace officer personnel which will be engaged in the assistance.
