Requests for Vacation Time Off. An employee shall be entitled to receive their vacation in blocks of 5 working days unless otherwise mutually agreed upon by the employee and employer. The Employer will make every reasonable effort to grant an employee his/her vacation when specified by the employee. Preference in choice of vacation time shall be given to employees with a greater length of continuous service. The Board encourages employees to take their vacation during school break periods (March break, July, August and Christmas Break).

Requests for Vacation Time Off. An employee shall be entitled to receive their vacation in blocks of working days unless otherwise mutually agreed upon by the employee and Employer, The Employer will make every reasonable effort to grant an employee vacation when specified by the employee. Twelve-month employees requesting vacation time off during July and August must submit their request by March of each year. All other times must be submitted at least two (2) weeks in advance. Collective Agreement Expiring August Near North District School Board and Local Vacation requests must be provided in writing on the appropriate form and approved by the employee’s immediate supervisor and forwarded to the Human Resources Department. Should an employee’s vacation period fall during a paid statutory holiday, the employee shall be entitled to schedule another day’s vacation in lieu.

  • Split Vacations Where an employee wishes to split her vacation, her second choice of vacation time shall be made only after all other employees concerned have made their initial selection.

  • Paid Vacation Except as otherwise provided in this Article, paid vacation shall be granted no longer than the fiscal year immediately following the fiscal year in which it is earned.

  • Time Off The company recognises that sufficient time off to attend to personal matters and for recreation are important to the employee’s wellbeing, job satisfaction and overall productivity. The object of offering flexible working hours is that in return employees will take very seriously their obligation to turn up when they are expected. In view of the disruption caused by unplanned and or notified absenteeism, repeated failure to observe the protocol for time off would constitute misconduct.

  • PAID VACATIONS 16.01 An employee in the active employ of the Company shall be entitled to an annual paid vacation pay on the following basis:

  • Annual Vacation Auxiliary employees will be entitled to receive annual vacation at the rate of four percent (4%) of their regular earnings. After one thousand (1,000) days worked, auxiliary employees will be entitled to receive annual vacation at the rate of six percent (6%) of their regular earnings.

  • ANNUAL VACATIONS Vacation entitlement earned during previous employment shall be credited to the employee, and vacations granted shall be in accordance with such previous entitlement (Articles 28.01 and 28.02).

  • Annual Vacation Leave 30.01 An Employee shall not take vacation leave without prior authorization from the Employer.

  • Banked Vacation Once every five years an employee may bank one full year's vacation to be taken in conjunction with the next year's vacation. For the purposes of this clause, all vacation in the second year must be taken concurrently.

  • Sick Leave While on Vacation An employee who while on vacation is incapacitated for one (1) or more days due to personal illness or injury may charge such days to accrued sick leave. In such event, the employee promptly shall notify his department, and upon return to duty shall substantiate the need for, and use of, sick leave.

  • Time of Vacation (a) All vacation earned during one (1) vacation year shall be taken during the next following vacation year at a mutually agreeable time.
