REPRESENTATION TIME. The Local is entitled to a total of seventy-two (72) hours per year of this Agreement without loss of pay to be used among Local officials or grievance representatives to attend local, state and/or international union related activities. The time shall be paid at the member’s regular rate, 53- hour for shift personnel or 40-hour for day-shift personnel. The Local President shall decide which bargaining unit members may use the time, and shall maintain a log in MUNIS/ESS, which shall be provided to the City upon request.

Such visitation shall be for the purpose of processing grievances or to attend other meetings permitted herein. In the event of an emergency, such officer or representative shall give as much advance notice as possible under the circumstances to the Sheriff or his designee. At time of arrival, they shall make their presence known to the Sheriff.

REPRESENTATION TIME. A Patrol Person who, during his/her scheduled working hours, attends a meeting between the Chapter and the Village in a representative capacity for the purposes(s) of adjustments of grievances, or transmittal of notices, shall not suffer a loss in pay because of such attendance, provided that the Village must have agreed to hold the meeting at such time. A patrol officer appearing pursuant to this section while off-duty shall not be paid for such appearance. The Chapter recognizes the essential need to minimize lost work time and to avoid interference with the work of the Department.
REPRESENTATION TIME. One employee required to act as a Union representative in a grievance meeting scheduled by the Village and the Union during said employee’s regularly scheduled working hours shall not suffer a loss of regular straight time pay for attending the meeting. However, the Union must provide the Village with reasonable advance notice of who needs to be released for such grievance meetings so that the meetings can be scheduled in such a way to avoid interference with the work of the Village. In addition, an employee who is being interviewed or who is scheduled for a meeting during the employee’s regularly scheduled working hours and a Union xxxxxxx, if requested by the employee, who is representing the employee at the interview or at a meeting scheduled during the xxxxxxx’x regularly scheduled working hours, shall be released from work without loss of regular straight time pay. No xxxxxxx/representative attending any of the above meetings shall be paid for attending such meetings in his representational capacity outside of his scheduled working hours unless the attendance is at the request of the Village. The Union recognizes the essential need to minimize lost work time and to avoid interference with the work of the Village.
REPRESENTATION TIME. ‌ A Police Sergeant who is in a representative capacity during his scheduled working hours shall be excused from his regular duties for the purpose of attending a meeting, without incurring additional cost, between MAP and the City for the purposes(s) of negotiations, adjustments of grievances, or transmittal of notices shall not suffer a loss in pay because of such attendance, provided that the City must have agreed to hold the meeting at such time. There shall be no claim under this provision for pay for any other than in relation to the regularly scheduled hour(s) of the police sergeant claiming such pay. MAP recognizes the essential need to minimize lost work time and to avoid interference with the work of the department. No pay shall be due under this section for a sergeant’s attendance at any arbitration hearing, administrative proceeding, ILRB proceeding, disciplinary proceeding, bargaining session or in connection with any union issued subpoena unless such attendance occurs during the sergeant’s regularly scheduled work shift and it is held at the City of St. Xxxxxxx. The sergeant’s attendance must not impact the work shift or create additional cost to the City. The employer agrees that sergeants shall be allowed to attend, without loss of pay, scheduled meetings of the chapter, provided that at least a 48-hour notice is provided in writing, and such meetings are within St. Charles city limits. Such sergeants must still respond to calls while on duty.
