Reporting Absences. Employees are responsible to report to work on time on each scheduled work day. When an Employee is absent from work for any reason, including because of injury or illness, she must, unless unable due to extreme circumstances, notify her Supervisor as early as possible in advance of the absence but no later than within the first hour of the first day on which she is absent from work. The Employee shall inform her Supervisor or designate of the reason for the absence, the expected time of her return to work, and a phone number where she may be reached in her absence.
Reporting Absences. 12.07 An employee who is unable to report for work, for whatever reason, will notify their Supervisor or designate at least one (1) hour before the beginning of the shift. Acknowledgment by their Supervisor or designate of the absence does not mean permission has been granted.

Employees shall submit the absence form following each leave, whether paid or unpaid, within five (5) business days of return to work. For paid absences of unknown duration that extend longer than two weeks, the employee shall submit the form at least every calendar month during the absence unless he/she is incapacitated, in which case the employee’s immediate supervisor shall submit the absence form. This is to assure that the employee on a paid leave has adequate leave available to avoid an overpayment. The absence forms are to be signed by the employee’s supervisor and submitted to the Payroll Department promptly within the above timelines. An approved request for leave of absence does not relieve the employee of the obligation to submit an absence verification form upon return.
Reporting Absences. Teachers shall report their anticipated absences to the substitute center as early as possible in order to enable substitute teachers to arrive in the school before the beginning time of the teachers’ work day. Teachers shall also report their anticipated absences to the school no later than their reporting time. If the teachers cannot report because the telephone lines are busy or similar such occurrences, the teachers shall report as soon thereafter as possible.
