Religious Beliefs. An employee who is a verified member of a religious body within the meaning of Section 3546.3 of the Government Code shall not be required to financially support the Union as a condition of employment. Such employee, in lieu thereof, shall file a detailed written objection with the Union and the County, establishing the basis for the religious exemption and a request that the Union pay a sum equal to his/her fair share service fee to one of three (below) non-religious, non-labor, charities exempt from taxation under Section 501 (c) (3) of Title 26 of the Internal Revenue Code, designated and mutually agreed upon by the Union and the County. The Union agrees to forward such amounts to one of the designated charities: • ARC of Butte/Xxxxx Counties • Catalyst Program • Red Cross
