Release Time for Training. Upon adoption of this memorandum of understanding by the Board of Supervisors, the County shall provide the Union a maximum of one hundred (100) total hours per year of release time for Union designated stewards or officers to attend Union-sponsored training programs. Requests for release time shall be provided in writing to the Department and County Human Resources at least fifteen (15) days in advance of the time requested. Department Heads will reasonably consider each request and notify the affected employee whether such request is approved, within one (1) week of receipt.
