Release Days. When release days are provided in the calendar by the Board for in-service, employees' total planning time, including pre- and post-planning, shall not be materially reduced because of the implementation of the release days. The Professional Development Plan referred to in #2 above shall include plans for the professional activities for early release days.

Release Days. A maximum of fifty (50) days per school year may be used by DCUE to conduct DCUE business, but shall not be used for negotiation, mediation or arbitration of any kind or anything related thereto. Such days shall be without loss of salary. ISD 196 shall bill DCUE for the cost of the substitutes. If DCUE uses more than fifty (50) days, ISD 196 will bill DCUE for the teacher’s daily rate of pay.

The District has determined that it is in its benefit and its best interests to employ and pay the salary of a certificated staff person to perform the job duties listed below on behalf of District certified employees and the District. The Governing Board agrees to grant a total of 50 release days to the Association President or other Association representatives as designated by the Association President to conduct Association business. If the DEA President is a high school teacher (grades 9-12) he/she shall be provided with one high school period per day to conduct association business. If the DEA President is a K-8 teacher, he/she shall be provided one release day per week to conduct association business.
Release Days. 1. All contractual release days shall still be provided. Teachers will provide asynchronous assignments for the day. A substitute shall provide a morning Google Meet in elementary school for purposes of attendance, review of the daily schedule/expectations, and instruction to support learning. For EAT and upper grade release days, grade levels will make every attempt to take their release days on the same day to allow the classes to share the same substitute and minimize the number of substitutes required by the District to cover the release days. Special Education unit members shall coordinate with their site administrator(s) for their release days.
Release Days. The Association has up to ten (10) release days per year to conduct Association business, four (4) which may be purchased by paying the district the prevailing substitute rate at the time of the request. Members may use personal leave days with pay for Association business to a maximum collective total of three (3) days each school year. The local Association president and officially elected delegates or alternates may attend the annual NEA/OEA Representative Assembly as professional days. The Board is not obligated for any expenses related to the NEA/OEA Representative Assembly except to provide release time. No member who has missed seven (7) or more days of work during the school year due to personal illness or personal leave at the time the leave is requested will be eligible for Association leave or personal leave for Association business. The Superintendent has the right to waive this in exceptional circumstances.
