Regular and Overtime Hours. The current, regularly assigned duty hours of full-time Employees are a forty (40)-hour workweek, with a one-half (½) hour paid lunch break, as established by the Village. The Village shall have no obligation to provide any additional paid or unpaid break periods to Employees, except as required by law. Employees will receive overtime pay at time and a half (1½) for all hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours during a workweek. Paid time off shall not count as hours worked for overtime compensation purposes for members of the bargaining unit, except that due to the unique hours worked and duties performed by the Evidence Technician and Building Inspector positions, overtime for the Evidence Technician and Building Inspector shall be calculated to include any paid benefit time utilized during a pay period, other than sick leave. The workweek shall be established from time to time by the Village.

Regular and Overtime Hours. The regular assigned duty hours for Sergeants, excluding assigned shift review time pursuant to Section 5.2, are an average of forty (40) hours per week within a work period (tour of duty) of twenty-eight (28) days, as established by the Village. A Sergeant who is required to work in excess of his regular shift schedule as established by the Village will receive time and one-half for hours worked in excess of his regularly scheduled hours of work in any one workweek. Paid time off for vacations, emergency leave, birthday holiday time, and work related injury shall count as hours worked for overtime compensation purposes. The schedule and workweek shall be established from time to time by the Village. In accordance with this Section 5.1. the parties acknowledge and agree that the period of an eight and one-half (8 ½) hour workday shift will continue for all bargaining unit members regularly assigned to patrol duties, unless changed by the Village, subject to no less than 30 days’ notice. The shifts, workdays, and hours assigned to officers will be based on a yearly calendar schedule. The parties acknowledge that a normal workday of eight and one-half (8 ½) hours shall include a half (1/2) hour paid lunch break. So long as the regular workday shift of eight and one-half (8 ½) hours, holidays paid and worked shall be assigned as an eight (8) hour workday. Hours worked in excess of eight and one-half (8 ½) hours on a normal workday shall be paid on the basis of one and one-half (1 ½) the officer’s regular straight-time hourly rate of pay. Hours worked in excess of eight and one-half (8 ½) hours on a holiday will be paid on the basis of two (2) times the officer’s regular straight-time hourly rate of pay. Vacation, sick leave, emergency leave, personal days, birthdays, fitness days, and holiday pay shall be used as eight (8) hours for the eight and one-half (8 ½) day, in the event the officer chooses not to use the time off they shall be compensated for the maximum of two (2) days at a rate of eight (8) hours per day. Compensatory time will be used at the rate of eight and one-half (8 ½) hours per work day. All training and schools shall be paid and accounted for as a complete eight and one-half (8 ½) hour workday. Nothing in this section shall preclude or give effect to either party as to what constitutes status quo or past practices concerning scheduling.   • HOURS AND OVERTIME 3:1 A workweek is defined as seven (7) consecutive calendar days, from Saturday midnight to Saturday midnight. The basic workweek shall consist of five (5) workdays of eight (8) hours each and shall begin Monday and run through Friday, except when a job other than for a public utility is to be done on Saturday, then the Company may assign another day as a non-workday and Saturdays becomes a workday in the basic workweek. An extended workweek shall begin at starting time Monday and continue until the next Monday starting time. The regular hours of work for all employees shall be from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with an unpaid meal period of thirty (30) minutes which normally will be from 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m. provided, however, that the regular lunch period may be advance or delayed an hour or less when work must necessarily be performed during the regular lunch period. Such a change in the lunch period shall not be deemed to require the payment of overtime. The regular hours of work may be changed by the Company at the request or direction of the public utility or governmental authorities, and by mutual agreement between the Company and the Union. The Company may change the start times by 30 minutes in either direction of the regular start time to meet the operational need without union approval. Such a change in the regular hours of work shall not be deemed to require the payment of overtime.

  • Overtime Hours Except as otherwise provided in this section, all hours worked in excess of the established work day, before or after an employee's regular scheduled shift, or on any regularly scheduled day off, shall be considered overtime. All paid vacation time, paid holidays, paid sick leave, compensatory time off, and paid leaves of absence shall be considered as "time worked" for purposes of this Article. Part-time employees whose established work day is less than eight (8) hours shall not be considered to be working overtime until having completed eight (8) hours of work.

  • WORK WEEK AND OVERTIME Section 1. The normal work week will consist of forty (40) hours. Department management will establish the work week and hours of work best suited to meet the needs of the Department and provide superior service to the community. ARTICLE 44 - LONGEVITY PAY -217 All regular employees of the Employer hired prior to August 19, 1996 shall be entitled to receive longevity pay for length of continuous service with the Employer according to the following rules and schedule of payment. -218 LONGEVITY YEAR The longevity year is defined as the twelve (12) month period beginning October 1 of each year and ending September 30. For longevity payment purposes only, a year of continuous full-time service is defined as any longevity year in which the employee is actively employed for at least 39 calendar weeks (273 calendar days). -219 Longevity pay shall be computed as a percentage of the employee's regular annual base wage. Base wage shall be that wage which an employee is being paid on September 1, 1988, of the calendar year in which the longevity payment is due. The annual base wage shall be equal to the employee's hourly rate times 2080 hours as of the first pay period in September. If an employee is not on the payroll at that time, the hourly rate to be used will be the hourly rate upon his/her return. Base wage shall not include overtime or premium pay. -220 INITIAL ELIGIBILITY The last date of hire as a regular employee will be used as the normal longevity date. To qualify for the first longevity payment, an employee must have completed six (6) years of continuous service as of October 1 of any year. To qualify for initial eligibility, the employee must have been on active employment for at least 39 calendar weeks (273 calendar days) for six (6) consecutive years and an employee on October 1 of that year to receive the longevity payment. Periods of active employment of less than 39 calendar weeks will be counted toward the employee's years of continuous service. -221 CONTINUING ELIGIBILITY After establishing initial eligibility, employees must be actively employed for 39 calendar weeks (273 calendar days) during the longevity year and an employee as of October 1 to receive the longevity payment on December 1. Periods of active employment of less than 39 calendar weeks, while not qualifying the employee for payment of longevity, shall be counted toward the employee's years of continuous service. -222 Payments to employees who are eligible each October 1 will be paid on December
