Redundancy Entitlement. There shall be no forced redundancies for the life of this agreement. Should a Council offer a redundancy package for consideration by an employee or group of employees, such package shall comprise a minimum of: • 1 weeks notice of termination per completed year of service to a maximum of 4 weeks or payment (total average weekly wage) in lieu thereof and • 1 weeks of total average weekly wage as severance payment for each completed year of service with the Council to a maximum of 12 weeks. • For employees over 45 years of age an additional 4 weeks severance pay The total amount of notice of termination or payment in lieu and severance payment should not exceed 20 weeks.

Redundancy Entitlement. For the purpose of this clause redundancy or redundant means the termination or cessation of employment of an Employee other than casuals for any reason. The Company agrees to make redundancy contributions in respect of Employees covered by this agreement to the ACIRT Redundancy Trust (Fund) or other scheme (Scheme) as agreed between the signatories to this agreement. The weekly contribution rate shall be the amount as specified in Appendices B, C, H or I as appropriate. Any new weekly hire Employee shall be entitled to the weekly contribution paid to ACIRT. This contribution will be paid pro-rata Monday to Friday being not applicable for unauthorised / unpaid leave. Employees engaged part-time will have their contribution to ACIRT paid pro-rata. Industry/Workers Welfare The Company will contribute $3.00 per week per Employee to the Construction Industry Drug and Alcohol Foundation (CIDAF). This amount is to be forwarded to CIDAF in accordance with the provisions of clause 11.10 of this Agreement. This will apply to all Employees of the Company. Additional Meal Allowance Provision In lieu of the MCHA meal allowance provision for overtime $30.60 shall be payable. This allowance will also be in lieu of the first 20 minutes crib payable for overtime Monday to Friday found in the MCHA. This meal allowance is payable where an Employee is required to work 1.5 hours or more overtime after working ordinary hours including any unpaid meal break. This amount shall replace the amount prescribed by the MCHA and shall remain in force without variation for the duration of the Agreement.
