Redundancy and Recall. 23.05.01 Teachers shall be declared redundant in reverse order of seniority and subject to qualifications.
Redundancy and Recall. 20.01 Where a system-wide reduction of teaching staff is necessary, reduction will be made on the following basis and in the following order:
Redundancy and Recall. 30.01 It is the intent of the surplus and redundancy procedures to declare redundant the teachers with the least seniority provided that in all cases the teachers remaining in the system are qualified and capable of teaching the subjects of the program.

The least senior teacher shall be declared redundant and placed on the recall list. The Board shall recall any teacher declared redundant to a permanent assignment as follows:

Surplus Pool When a teacher who has completed the required probationary period is declared surplus and eligible for transfer, and no other position for which the teacher is qualified is available in the elementary panel, the teacher will be assigned to a surplus pool, if a position in such pool is available in accordance with Article 30.02 (c), for a period of one (1) school year. When a teacher who has not completed the required probationary period is declared surplus and eligible for transfer, and no other position for which the teacher is qualified is available in the elementary panel, the teacher will be declared redundant and the employment of the teacher will be terminated at the end of the present school year in accordance with Article 30.02 (e).
Redundancy and Recall i) Nothing in this Article precludes a member from entitlement to sick leave pay under L10.00 – Sick Leave.
