REDUCTION IN WORK FORCE. 16.01 A layoff shall be defined as a cessation of employment or the elimination of a job resulting from a reduction of the amount of work required to be done by the Employer. A reduction of hours (that exceeds 10% of the employees’ regularly scheduled hours may), at the employee’s option, trigger bumping rights as per Article 16.03. Wherever possible, job reduction will be done in reverse order of seniority.
