Recreation. Therapeutic Recreation is a planned process which utilizes techniques to assess, prescribe, treat, and evaluate the success of treatment for the Child/Youth who experiences significant barriers to leisure fulfillment. These barriers include the lack of physiological, psychological, and/or social skills. Recreational and other leisure-time activity services provide for the development, maintenance, and expression of an appropriate leisure/social lifestyle for Child’s/Youth’s with mental, physical, emotional, or social limitations.
