Recommendation of the Department. The candidate will meet with the Department Chairperson and a group of eligible department members selected by the Department to discuss the application for promotion and/or tenure. Then, eligible department members will make a recommendation on promotion and/or tenure in accordance with procedures developed by the Department. The recommendation must be in writing and be signed by the eligible faculty who support it. The written recommendation will include the vote count and summaries of the reasons supporting it and of those supporting dissenting views. In addition, any eligible department member may attach a signed statement, not to exceed two hundred (200) words, to the department's recommendation before it is forwarded to the Xxxx. The written recommendation of the Department will indicate whether or not dissenting views are attached. If the Department Chairperson is being considered for promotion and/or tenure, the recommendation will be submitted to the Xxxx by a senior member of the Department. In the case of an application for tenure, eligible department members will be those who are tenured. In the case of an application for promotion, eligible department members will be those who are tenured and who hold higher rank than the candidate. If there are fewer than three (3) eligible department members, the Xxxx will select additional eligible faculty members from related departments within his or her college so that a committee of three (3) makes the recommendation at the department level.

Any department member may have a dissenting opinion, clearly identified as such, either incorporated within or attached to the letter sent to the Xxxx. If the Department Chairperson is being considered for promotion and/or tenure, the recommendation will be submitted to the Xxxx by a senior member of the Department. In the case of an application for tenure, eligible department members will be those who are tenured. In the case of an application for promotion, eligible department members will be those who are tenured and who hold higher rank than the candidate.   • Monitoring by the Department The Contractor shall permit all persons who are duly authorized by the Department to inspect and copy any records, papers, documents, facilities, goods, and services of the Contractor that are relevant to this Contract, and to interview clients, employees, and sub-contractor employees of the Contractor to assure the Department of satisfactory performance of the terms and conditions of this Contract. Following such review, the Department shall deliver to the Contractor a written report of its finding, and may direct the development, by the Contractor, of a corrective action plan. This provision shall not limit the Department’s termination rights.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT The Department agrees to:

  • DEPARTMENT'S REPRESENTATIVE The Contract Administrator shall be the Department's representative during the period of this Contract. He/she has authority to curtail services if necessary to ensure proper execution. He/she shall certify to the Department when payments under the Contract are due and the amounts to be paid. He/she shall make decisions on all claims of the Provider, subject to the approval of the Commissioner of the Department.

  • Department Review If a mutually acceptable solution has not been reached during Step 1, and the employee intends to pursue the grievance formally, the employee shall submit the grievance in writing on the Employee Grievance Resolution Form to the Department Head with a copy to the Labor Relations Division not later than ten (10) working days after the supervisor’s written response. The Department Head shall consider the grievance and render a written decision within ten (10) working days of receipt of the formal grievance. The written decision shall include a clear and concise statement including the reason(s) for the decision. The Department Head may hold a meeting with the employee to achieve any of the following purposes: 1) to identify why the employee feels there is a grievance and facilitate communication and resolution; 2) to clearly identify issues and areas of agreement/disagreement; and 3) to have the parties present whatever available information/ documentation necessary to fully attempt to resolve the grievance. The employee may be accompanied by his/her shop xxxxxxx during the Department Review, provided that the xxxxxxx is in the same department as the employee, and has been identified by the employee on the Employee Grievance Resolution Form. If the department, in consultation with the Labor Relations Division, determines that the grievance is outside of the Department Head’s authority, or the grievance involves employees working in separate departments, then such grievance shall be submitted to Step 3.

  • Changes to the Department's Requirements 5.1 The Department shall notify the Contractor of any material change to the Department's requirement under this Contract.

  • EVALUATION OF TEACHERS 1. All reports on the work of a teacher shall be in writing.

  • Department of Health and Human Services An employee notified of a positive controlled substance or alcohol test result may request an independent test of their split sample at the employee’s expense. If the test result is negative, the Employer will reimburse the employee for the cost of the split sample test. An employee who has a positive alcohol test and/or a positive controlled substance test may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal, based on the incident that prompted the testing, including a violation of the drug and alcohol free work place rules.

  • Comptroller General Examination of Record The Contractor shall comply with the provisions of this paragraph (d) if this contract was awarded using other than sealed bid, is in excess of the simplified acquisition threshold, as defined in FAR 2.101, on the date of award of this contract, and does not contain the clause at 52.215-2, Audit and Records-Negotiation.

  • Obligations of the Department a. The Department shall notify Business Associate of a) any limitation in any applicable Notice of Privacy Practices that would affect the use or disclosure of PHI by the Business Associate and b) any changes, revocations, restrictions or permissions by an individual to the use and disclosure of his/her PHI to which the Department has agreed, to the extent such restrictions or limitations may affect the performance of Business Associate’s services on behalf of the Department.

  • Department Responsibilities The use of sick leave may properly be denied if these procedures are not followed. Abuse of sick leave on the part of the employee is cause for disciplinary action. Departmental approval of sick leave is a certification of the legitimacy of the sick leave claim. The department head or designee may make reasonable inquiries about employee absences. The department may require medical verification for an absence of three (3) or more working days. The department may also require medical verification for absences of less than three (3) working days for probable cause if the employee had been notified in advance in writing that such verification was necessary.
