RECOGNITION, BARGAINING UNIT AND TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT. 1.1 The City recognizes the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, District Lodge 160, Local 289 (hereinafter referred to as the Union) as the exclusive collective bargaining representative for the purpose stated in Chapter 108, Extra Session Laws of 1967 of the State of Washington for employees employed within the bargaining unit defined in Appendix "A" of this Agreement. For purposes of this Agreement and the bargaining unit described herein, the following definitions shall apply:
