Reclassification of Casual and Part-Time Nurses. The Hospital shall 18 review the status of each part-time nurse or casual nurse each January and July 1 19 of each year for the purpose of changing classification status. Any change in status 20 shall be based upon all compensated hours paid in the previous six (6) months and 21 whether such hours are expected to continue for that casual or part-time nurse. 22 However, no reclassification shall occur unless the interested nurse who wishes to 23 be considered for a possible reclassification submits written notification to the 24 Personnel Human Resources Director and their respective Unit Manager or 25 designee. Notwithstanding the foregoing sentence, the Hospital may unilaterally 26 reclassify a casual nurse to full-time or part-time status if they have s/he has 27 worked an average of thirty (30) or more hours per week during the preceding six- 28 month period, and therefore is required to be offered medical insurance under 29 federal Health Care Reform legislation.
