Receiving Money. If a friend or family member sends money to you, the money will appear in your PayPal balance. To receive money in a currency your account is not currently configured to accept, it may be necessary to create a balance in that currency or convert the money into another currency. Certain currencies can only be received by converting the money into another currency that PayPal allows you to hold. If the money is converted, PayPal’s transaction exchange rate (including our currency conversion fee) will be used. Fees for Sending Money to Friends and Family The fees applicable to sending money can be found on our Sending Money to Friends and Family table and will be disclosed to you in advance each time you initiate a transaction to send money to a friend or family member. If you convert money in your PayPal balance from one currency to another before sending money, PayPal’s transaction exchange rate (including our currency conversion fee) will be used. And, if you use your credit card as the payment method when sending money, you may be charged a cash-advance fee by your card issuer. If you send money to a friend or family member from a third party (non-PayPal) website or by using a third party’s product or service, then the third party will determine if the sender or recipient pays the fee. This will be disclosed to you by the third party before the payment is initiated. You can also use the send money feature in your PayPal account to pay for good or services. You will not be charged any transaction fee for sending money to purchase goods or services as long as you choose the “send money to pay for goods and services” feature in your PayPal account. In that case, the seller will pay the fees. You must not use the “send money to a friend or family member” feature in your PayPal account when you are paying for goods or services.

Receiving Money. When another person initiates a transfer to you through the P2P Service, we will deposit the funds to your designated account. If you are receiving a payment from a business or government agency, your payment will be delivered in accordance with both this Agreement and the procedures of the business or government agency that is sending you the payment.

For example, in order to protect you, us, Zelle and the other Network Financial Institutions, we or Zelle may need additional time to verify your identity or the identity of the person sending the money. We may also delay or block the transfer to prevent fraud or to meet our regulatory obligations. There may be a delay between the time you are notified of the pending Payment Instruction and the deposit of the payment funds into your Eligible Transaction Account, such as if we have questions regarding possible fraud in connection with the payment, and you may be required to take additional steps to facilitate the deposit of the payment. If we delay or block a payment that you have initiated through a request for money, we will notify you in accordance with your User preferences (i.e., email, text message). You authorize the Sender, the financial institution which holds the Sender's Eligible Transaction Account, us (including through the Website or the Mobile App), and Zelle to send emails to you and text messages to your mobile phone in connection with the Sender's initiation of Payment Instructions to you, and, as a Receiver, you may receive Zelle Payment Requests, from others through the Zelle Payment Service. Receiving Money. You may receive money from another User at their initiation. Once a User initiates a transfer of money to your email address or U.S. mobile phone number enrolled with the Service, you have no ability to stop the transfer. By using the Service, you agree and authorize us to initiate credits to the Account you have enrolled. Most transfers of money to you from other Users will occur in minutes, but there may be circumstances when the payment may take longer. We or Zelle may need additional time to verify your identity or the identity of the User sending the money before crediting your Account. We may also delay or block the transfer to prevent fraud or to meet our regulatory obligations. If we block a payment that you have initiated through a request for money, we will notify you. We shall have no liability to you for any such transfers of money, including without limitation, (i) any failure through no fault of us to complete a transaction in the correct amount, or (ii) any related losses or damages. If you are receiving a payment from a business or government agency, your payment will be delivered in accordance with both these Terms and Conditions and the procedures of the business or government agency that is sending you the payment.

Once a Zelle user initiates a transfer of money to your email address or mobile phone number registered with the Service, you have no ability to stop or cancel the transfer. By using the Service, you agree and authorize us to initiate credit entries to the primary or default account you have registered for the Service. For avoidance of doubt, payments sent to you will be Cancelled if you have not designated any Chase Account as the primary or default account for the Service. To avoid this cancellation, if the existing primary or default account you designated is inactive or terminated, we may, and you hereby authorize us to, designate on your behalf another eligible and active Chase Account in your profile as your primary or default account to receive payments sent to you through the Service.
