Receiving employee. 12.3.4.1 Prior to the bargaining unit member exhausting all his/her paid leave, including sick leave, comp time and vacation, and prior to being placed on differential sick leave, the employee or his/her family member or agent can request to be placed on Catastrophic Leave. Once all of the above leave is exhausted, catastrophic illness or injury leave will begin.

Receiving employee. The employee or the employee's representative requesting a sick leave donation must complete a Sick Leave Donation Request form, available in the Business Office, and should specify the amount of leave being requested. Medical certification of the illness may be required. Leave beyond that needed will not be transferred. If the employee is unable to return to work within the originally anticipated time frame, additional requests for leave donations may be made, as needed. Leave donation requests must be reviewed and approved by the Business Office to ensure that they meet the criteria outlined in this policy. Every effort shall be made to protect the confidentiality of medical information throughout this process. Donating employees: Requests to donate accrued vacation under this policy must be submitted on a Leave Donation Form and must be reviewed and approved by the Business Office to ensure that the donating employees meet the criteria outlined in this policy. Requests must indicate the employee for whom the donation is intended and the total hours donated. Donating employees may not make more than one (1) donation per leave donation request and may not donate more than sixteen (16) hours per leave donation request. Once approved the Business Office is responsible for forwarding the Leave Donation Request Forms to the membership in a timely manner. Donated hours are removed from the donating employee's accruals and are transferred hour for hour to the recipient's sick leave balance each pay period that the employee is on leave without pay status, so as to maintain the employee's regular salary and benefits. Donations will be processed in order of the date received by the Business Office. The donation, once transferred to the receiving employee, must be made voluntarily and irrevocably, with the understanding that the donated leave is lost to the donor forever. All names of all donors will remain confidential with the understanding that the donated leave is lost forever to the donor, if used.   • Regular Part-Time Employee A regular part-time employee is an employee hired to fill a posted part-time position and is regularly pre-scheduled to work.

  • Part-Time Employee Part-time employee" means an employee who is normally scheduled to work fewer than 80 hours in a biweekly payroll period.

  • Permanent Part-Time Employee A permanent part-time employee is defined as an employee who is employed in a permanent position and who is normally scheduled to work a minimum of twenty-five (25) hours and less than thirty-two and one-half (32.5) hours per week on a regular basis.

  • In-Training Employment 1. The Employer may designate specific positions, groups of positions, or all positions in a job classification or series as in-training. The Employer will document the training program, including a description and length of the program.

  • Contract Employee Check this option when the Department requires a renewal or other amendment to the performance of a Contract Employee.

  • Injured Employees In the event of an employee sustaining injuries at work and becoming physically handicapped as a result thereof, every effort shall be made by the Employer to give the injured employee such suitable employment as is available.

  • Regular Employee Seniority for a regular employee is defined as the length of the employee’s continuous employment (whether full-time or part-time) from the date of commencement of regular employment, plus any seniority accrued, while working as a casual employee of the Employer.

  • Returning Employee Rights Employees returning from authorized leave without pay will be employed in the same position or in another position in the same job classification, as determined by the Employer, provided that such reemployment is not in conflict with other articles in this Agreement. The employee and the Employer may enter into a written agreement regarding return rights at the commencement of the leave.

  • INCAPACITATED EMPLOYEES The Company undertakes to make every effort to continue an employee who becomes incapacitated by illness or injury in productive employment. In the event that an employee becomes incapacitated from performing the duties of his/her position by reason of illness or injury, the parties will identify another position that the employee has previously held or a lower level position within the Bargaining Unit which she/he is capable of performing. The Union and the Company agree that he/she be placed in that position on a trial basis and allowed to continue in that position for as long as she/he is able or is required to do such work and remains incapacitated from performing the duties of the position occupied when he/she became incapacitated. An employee who has been placed on a job because of disability will have that disability reviewed at least annually to determine entitlement under this position. It is understood that in order to bump into a position, an employee must have more seniority than the employee that holds said position.

  • Disabled Employees If an employee becomes disabled with the result that he is unable to carry out the regular functions of his position, the Hospital may establish a special classification and salary with the hope of providing an opportunity of continued employment.
