Purpose of the Study. The primary purpose of this mixed-methods study is to find out how teachers in Kazakhstan understand and perceive their own autonomy. I also compare Kazakhstani teachers’ subjective descriptions of teacher autonomy to the more objective ones derived from the literature. Since there are teachers from three different types of schools: private, mainstream and charter, I explore the similarities and differences among the degree of autonomy the teachers exercise in these schools. Next, the study attempts to understand whether the degree of autonomy is in any way correlated to job satisfaction, motivation and self-esteem of teachers.

Purpose of the Study. You are being asked to take part in a research study examining the use of a Connected Vehicle Device (henceforth referred to as the ‘Study Device’). The Study Device has been developed for use by drivers to improve awareness and reduce the occurrence and severity of crashes. The Study Device is ‘Investigational’ which means that the Study Device is being tested for its ability to improve safety by the United States Department of Transportation. Approximately 250-500 private automobile drivers 18 years of age and older will participate in this study as operators of vehicles equipped with a Study Device. There are also over 350 Central Ohio Transit Authority (XXXX) buses and supervisor vehicles, over 250 City of Columbus fleet, police, fire, and emergency vehicles, along with 10 private freight heavy duty vehicles (HDV) participating in this study. Participation will involve installation of the Study Device in your vehicle and driving with the Study Device in your vehicle from July 2020 to March 2021 in the study area. A map of the study area is available in this registration facility and included at the end of this Informed Consent Document. This Study Device will be used to alert you to some specific developing roadway hazards described later in this document. Study Staff will be passively collecting data from the Study Device and conduct surveys in order to better evaluate the use of the Study Device in the study area.
Purpose of the Study. You are being asked to take part in a research study examining the use of a Connected Vehicle (CV) device. This investigational device will be used to alert you to some specific developing traffic hazards and to advance your vehicle through traffic signals when conditions permit. This device has been developed for use by drivers to reduce the occurrence and severity of traffic incidents and crashes and to reduce delay drivers experience at intersections. Investigational means that the device is being tested for its ability to improve safety, mobility and environmental effects by the United States Department of Transportation for public use.

Purpose of the Study. The unified school district in this study implements a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) which refers to structures and procedures that help every student be successful in the classroom. Schools across California and the country are comprised of complex social environments that challenge providing effective instruction for students from diverse backgrounds (Xxxxxxx-Xxxxx & Xxxxxxxx, 2016; Xxxxx et al., 2015). California Education Code Section 48204 requires schools to provide instruction for all age-appropriate students who qualify for attendance making the classroom rich in diversity with different backgrounds and needs. Incorporating MTSS allows teachers to intervene and meet the needs of the students in the classroom (Xxxxxxx-Xxxxx & Xxxxxxxx, 2016; Carta & Xxxxx, 2019; Xxxxxxxx et al., 2014). Tier 1 refers to the education and teaching that includes all general education curricula and procedures (Xxxxxxx-Xxxxx & Xxxxxxxx, 2016; California Department of Education, 2019; Xxxxxxxx & Xxxxxx, 2009). All students receive Tier 1 education and support throughout every day of their education. Tier 1 is a form of primary prevention because it is provided universally for all students where materials for core instruction are available to teachers and students. For the elementary classroom, students receive Tier 1 instruction in English Language Arts, mathematics, history, and science. Tier 1 materials and procedures are the first and best opportunity to help all students access learning (Xxxxxx & Xxxxxx, 2011; Xxxxxx & Xxxxx, 2010; Carta & Xxxxx, 2019). When implemented correctly, approximately 80% of students should be successful within the Tier 1 core programs (Xxxxxx & Xxxxxx, 2011; Xxxxxxx-Xxxxx & Xxxxxxxx, 2016; Xxxxxxxx & Xxxxxx, 2009). Students needing additional support to be successful will continue through the tiers in the MTSS structure. Tier 1 is a form of prevention because it optimizes the likelihood that students will be successful in school. Tier 1 mathematics instruction is the core instruction that all students receive in the general education classroom every day (IRIS Center, 2019). Tier 1 instruction typically involves “high-quality whole-group instruction and classroom assessments, coupled with some small- group instruction, differentiated instruction, and limited individual assistance in mathematics as needed” (Xxxxxx & Xxxxx, 2010, pg. 25). Tier 1 mathematics instruction includes standards- based curriculum that follow the state adopted...
Purpose of the Study. The implementation of an induction program in a school district with a clear framework and system to follow is worth studying. A certain formula and factors are needed to successfully implement a protocol that will work and thrive after implementation (Fullan & Xxxxx, 2016). To successfully implement a program, all stakeholders must have a full understanding of the program’s beliefs and why it is necessary for education (Xxxxxx, 2015; Xxxxxxx, 2016). The purpose of this case study was to examine a district induction program by (a) exploring ways the induction program provides long lasting support for the new teachers and (b) describing the formulas and protocols that have provided the program success and determine areas of improvement. It is important to study an induction program at the district level and learn about the experiences of the successful program systematically to see what potential it might have with new educators. A qualitative approach was primarily utilized in this mixed methods study to allow the thoughts and views of induction participants to be recorded, throughout the first two years of teaching. Research Questions This study addressed two research questions as it explored and analyzed the perceptions of effectiveness from mentors and teacher candidates in the School District’s A Induction Program.
Purpose of the Study. The primary purpose of this study is to examine the benefits of music programs that provide all students with access to a music curriculum following the California State and National Music Standards (CSMS; NSM). The study investigated the educational, professional development and curriculum modifications to ensure that a holistic education in music is included for every student. Students including those with special needs, with a mental or physical handicap, could be left out of the beautiful world of music due to the lack of programming in their schedules to include music courses. In the origins of education, in ancient times, music was one of the required subjects that students had as part of their education (The Pleasure of Musical Company - Xxxxxxx Chamber Music, 2014). The driving purpose of this desire comes from the researcher's first experience of the availability of music education for all students. The opportunity came from the researchers own family. The researcher’s uncle, “Charlie,” was diagnosed as a person with severe Down Syndrome. The researcher’s earliest memory of this uncle was in his room at the house playing music or in the back of the grandparent’s bakery business. He did not have friends, did not go to school, or go out with anyone besides grandparents. Nor did he experience life outside of those two locations. His only escape was his record player and the guitar. He loved to listen to music from the fifties on his record player and then play along with his guitar. The researcher’s family is very musical. The researcher’s father played trombone; mother played piano, grandfather played clarinet and often in the earliest memories, the researcher remembers family members playing together at various houses. The researcher later learned that the state did not require or have facilities for all students with special needs. Parents kept their children at home. This lack of state requirements upset the researcher due to the lack of the ability to make a friend or meet other people because everyone does have feelings and humans need human contact. The researcher wants to address the problem of inclusion for all students by evaluating and supplying information on the implementation, improvement, and building of future capacity in a secondary school music program. Research Questions This study will answer some questions for the evaluation and access to music programs within the state. The primary research questions included:
