PURPOSE OF THE INTERNSHIP. 2.1 The Intern shall be afforded an opportunity to acquire practical experience with an Internship host for the purposes of their University Study programme where the Intern is enrolled.
PURPOSE OF THE INTERNSHIP. The purpose of the internship is to provide the trainee with an opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired during his/her studies at the university in a corporate environment. The trainee’s presence should bring neither financial losses nor gains to the hosting institution.

The internship is a temporary immersion in a professional environment, during which interns acquire professional skills and apply what they have learned in classroom, in order to earn their degree or certificate and facilitate their integration into the professional workforce. They are assigned duties consistent with the educational goals defined by HEC Montréal and approved by the host organization.

The mandatory components of the internship are set out in the applicable study guide, the Education and Examination Regulations and/or in the internship regulations. The purpose of the internship and the activities which are to be undertaken are set out in the internship work plan which is appended to this agreement as an annex.

The internship should be carried out within the framework of the personal and professional project of the student and thereby, correspond to his/her educational programme.
