PURPOSE AND RECOGNITION. 1.01 The Parties to this Agreement, in recognition of the fact that the goals of the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT) include the provision of a high standard of service to its individual and organizational members, agree to cooperate in the pursuit of this goal and, in their employment relationship, to uphold the principles of academic freedom as expressed in the CAUT By-Laws. The Parties agree to cooperate in establishing and maintaining for Employees a working environment conducive to the fulfilment of the foregoing goals.
