Public Works Employees. Public Works employees assigned to conduct City related work in the field or custodial work in City facilities shall receive five (5) changes of shirts and pants/shorts per week.
Public Works Employees. Public Works Employees includes Agricultural Field Employees and Utilities/Water Treatment Employees. The regular hours of work for Public Works Employees shall be forty (40) hours per week comprised of eight (8) hours per day on five (5) consecutive days per week. When operational requirements such as weather or project scheduling requirements disrupt an Employee’s regular work schedule, the following conditions shall apply:
Public Works Employees. Vacation leave must be requested and scheduled through the chain of command from December 1st – 15th of the current calendar year for the following calendar year based on department seniority. Any open, unscheduled work day eligible for vacation leave throughout the calendar year (even after Dec 1-15), shall be requested with preferably a minimum of (2) weeks' notice on a first come first serve basis and will be granted if manpower permits. Seniority will only be considered for these "unscheduled days" if there are two (2) requests with the same submittal date and the time that the request was submitted cannot be determined. If the request was date/time stamped then seniority will not apply and the request with the earliest date/time stamp will be chosen for approval. If there is no date/time stamp on request then seniority shall be determined by date and time of the submittal of the employment application; with the earliest date and time for the application having the most seniority or in the alternative if seniority cannot be determined through the employment application then seniority will be determined by the employee's day (l-31) of birth, with the employee with the lowest numeric day of birth having the most seniority
Public Works Employees. The normal work week shall be forty (40) hours worked from Monday to Friday inclusively. The normal work day shall be eight (8) hours with one (1) unpaid hour off for lunch, scheduled as follows:
Public Works Employees. To be eligible for any non-emergency overtime call-outs, an employee must work the first half of their regularly scheduled shift. If an employee takes more than one-half of their regularly scheduled shift for the purpose of vacation, compensatory time off, or personal leave, they shall be considered unavailable for any and all overtime call-outs until the start of their next regularly scheduled shift. If that next scheduled shift will have an early start, said employee would be notified of that change and allowed to report at the earlier time. To be consistent, there will be no exceptions to the above written protocol Emergency situations will be handled as such and all employees needed will be contacted. For purposes of clarification, an “Emergency” shall be defined as: “A situation that occurs either as a result of mother nature, an act of God, or a situation that places the safety and well being of the community in imminent danger. A state of emergency can be declared by Federal, State or local officials who have the authority by law to do so”. In the alternative, County may provide uniform shirts to any or all of the above through a commercial service that would include laundering.
