PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND SAFETY. The Contractor shall control his/her operations and those of his/her subcontractors and all suppliers, to assure the least inconvenience to the traveling public. Under all circumstances, safety shall be the most important consideration. The Contractor shall maintain the free and unobstructed movement of aircraft and vehicular traffic with respect to his/her own operations and those of his/her subcontractors and all suppliers in accordance with the subsection titled MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC of Section 40 hereinbefore specified and shall limit such operations for the convenience and safety of the traveling public as specified in the subsection titled LIMITATION OF OPERATIONS of Section 80 hereinafter.

PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND SAFETY. (a) The Prime Contractor shall place materials stored about the Work and shall conduct the Work at all times in a manner that causes no greater obstruction to the public than is considered necessary by the Owner. Sidewalks or streets shall not be obstructed, except by special permission of the Owner. The materials excavated and the construction materials or plant used in the performance of the Work shall be placed in a manner that does not endanger the Work or prevent free access to all fire hydrants, water mains and appurtenances, water valves, gas valves, manholes for the telephone, telegraph signal or electric conduits, wastewater mains and appurtenances, and fire alarm or police call boxes in the vicinity.

He shall also be responsible for taking any other needed actions to protect the life and health of the Contractor's and County's employees on the Work and safety of the public, and to protect the Work and adjoining utilities and property during the construction of the Project.

The Project site and haul routes must be kept reasonably free from dust and in such condition that the public can travel in safety. When the Highway under construction is to be kept open for traffic, the subgrade and surfacing will be kept reasonably free from dust and in such condition that the public can travel in safety. Safety and convenience of the general public and the residents along the Work, and protection of persons and property, must be a primary responsibility of the XXXX Contractor. When the XXXX Contractor works at night, adequate artificial lighting, signs, flaggers, or other traffic controls must be provided to protect workers, the Work, and the traveling public. If CPRA’s Project Manager finds that the night work is so hazardous as to preclude the beginning or require the discontinuing of such Work, the XXXX Contractor shall immediately cease all such operations.
PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND SAFETY. The Manager shall at all times conduct the Work in a manner to create the least practicable interference and obstruction to all forms of traffic and the general public, residents and tenants at or adjacent to the relevant Project Site and shall take commercially reasonable steps to minimize noise, any objectionable or unpleasant odors, dust, vibrations, inconvenience and disruption to such Persons. The Manager shall develop and implement when applicable a Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plan in accordance with the applicable County codes and ordinances. The Manager shall provide and maintain in passable condition such temporary access, roads and bridges as may be necessary to accommodate traffic diverted by construction of an Approved Project and shall provide and maintain in a safe condition temporary approaches to, and crossing of, the Project Site. Existing facilities planned to be removed, but which might be of service to the public during construction, are not to be disturbed until other and adequate provisions are made. Unless otherwise approved by the local fire authority, fire hydrants on or adjacent to the Project Site shall be kept accessible to fire fighting apparatus at all times, and no obstruction shall be placed within fifteen (15) feet of any such hydrant. Work closed down for the winter or at any other time shall be left entirely accessible at all points to fire fighting apparatus.

PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND SAFETY. The safety, protection and convenience of the School District’s students, the general public, the School District’s employees, and the Contractor’s employees are of primary importance, and shall be monitored by the Construction Manager in an adequate and satisfactory manner. Precaution shall be exercised at all times for the protection of persons and property. The safety provisions of the School District of Philadelphia Safety Manual and applicable laws, rules and regulations, and codes shall be observed. If any operation, practice or condition during the course of the work is deemed by the School District or its representatives to be unsafe, the Construction Manager shall make sure that appropriate corrective action is taken by the Contractor. Where and when any operation, practice or condition endangers persons or property, it shall be discontinued and adequate remedial action taken before such work is resumed. The Construction Manager shall monitor corrective actions. The Construction Manager shall maintain NCR (Non-Compliance Reports) log using the approved project management program.
