Provision of Meals. If an employee is required to remain at work for at least two hours following the close of his or her regular work shift for the purpose of performing emergency work, the City shall provide the employee with an adequate meal. If an employee is called at home and asked to return to work to perform emergency work, the City shall provide the employee with an adequate meal at four-hour intervals during the performance of such work. The City shall not provide meals before, during or after any work which is scheduled in advance or performed at the discretion of the employee except as approved by the Department Head.
Provision of Meals. When an employee is required to work a minimum of two (2) hours overtime immediately before or after completion of her scheduled daily hours she shall be provided with a meal or shall be compensated in the amount of one-third (1/3) of the daily meal allowance. A meal break of one-half (½) hour with pay will be given plus reasonable additional time without pay, if required.

(d) When meals cannot be reasonably obtained15, an allowance of $10.00 per meal will be paid.

(i) Parks and Wildlife shall provide the usual three meals per day where employees are operating on fire duties remote from their headquarters and cannot be returned to their normal place of abode for a rest period. All food supplied by the Department shall be free of charge to employees.
(ii) Where an employee is called upon to undertake detention without having been notified prior to the day on which detention is to be undertaken, and the employee is required to undertake such detention away from his/her home, then Parks and Wildlife shall provide that employee with a suitable meal, or meals, for each mealtime that falls within the period of detention.
(iii) Where employees are called upon to undertake Fire Service away from their place of residence without having been notified prior to the day on which Fire Service is to be undertaken, then the employer shall provide affected employees with a suitable meal, or meals, for each mealtime that falls within the period of Fire Availability.
(iv) Provision of Meals for Prescribed Burning Activities Subject to alternative agreed local arrangements, employees involved in prescribed burning activities at or after 6.00 pm will be provided with a meal by the employer. The time taken to consume the meal should not take more than 30 minutes and will be deemed to be time worked.
(v) Parks and Wildlife will supply all meals outside normal working hours to employees which are to be of an agreed standard set out in the Fire Management Guideline No G1 Firefighter Food and Fluid Replacement Guidelines, as amended or replaced, and while performing Fire Service Duties employees will be supplied such meals by Parks and Wildlife employees to ensure the appropriate meals are supplied.

The wage rate will revert to ordinary time when the Employee has received a rest period of 10 hours. If a work period extends beyond midnight and penalty rates are being paid, such penalty rates will continue until the end of the work period. All time worked while performing VPS ESW duties at a Control Centre by an Employee on a Saturday will be paid for at the rate of time and one half for the first two hours and at double time thereafter, except if clause 79.11(c) applies. All time worked while performing VPS ESW duties at a Control Centre by an Employee on a Sunday will be paid for at double the ordinary prescribed rate and for all time worked on a Public Holiday at two and one half times the ordinary prescribed rate.
