Protection of the Work. Contractor shall take all steps necessary to protect the Work from loss or damage by the elements, including fire, flood, rain, wind, hail, sand, cave-ins, collapses, and other hazards, and by the defective or incomplete labor or materials of others, or otherwise. In the event of such loss or damage, Contractor shall promptly replace and restore the Work or any damaged portion thereof at its expense.

The Contractor’s obligation to protect shall include the duty to provide, place or replace and adequately maintain at or about the Dwelling suitable and sufficient protection such as lights, barricades, and enclosures. If Homeowner’s or an Occupant’s property is damaged through negligence of the Contractor, the Contractor shall promptly repair the damage or reimburse Homeowner for the reasonable cost of repairing the damage caused by the Contractor. The Contractor agrees to keep the premises broom clean and orderly and to remove all debris during the course of the Work.

Protection of the Work. Subcontractor shall be responsible for formulating and implementing a security program for the protection of its Work, materials and equipment. The security program shall be designed to protect work in progress and materials stored at the Site or other locations. Subcontractor will also exercise caution to ensure structure and finishes are not damaged during equipment and/or material delivery and/or installation.
Protection of the Work. Trade Contractor shall continuously maintain adequate protection of the Work from damage and shall protect the property of the Owner and A/Z as well as any adjacent and abutting properties from damage, injury or loss arising from or in connection with the Work. Trade Contractor shall make good any such damage, injury or loss that arises out of or is connected to any negligence, affirmative act or omission of Trade Contractor. Should the Work include the installation, erection or other handling of materials and equipment furnished by others, Trade Contractor shall be responsible for the protection of said materials and equipment to the extent provided above regarding the Work.

Subcontractor further agrees to provide such protection as is necessary to protect Subcontractor’s Work and the workmen of Contractor, Owner, and other subcontractors from Subcontractor’s operations. Subcontractor shall be liable for any loss or damage to any work in place or to any equipment and materials on the job site caused by Subcontractor or Subcontractor’s agents, employees, or guests.
