PROTECTION OF ENVIRONMENT. 36.1 The Government and the Contractor recognize the Petroleum Operations will cause some impact on the environment in the Contract Area. Accordingly, in performance of the Contract, the Contractor shall conduct its Petroleum Operations with due regard to concerns with respect to protection of the environment and conservation of natural resources and shall in particular employ modern oilfield and petroleum industry and standards including advanced techniques, practices and methods of operation for prevention of environmental damage in conducting its Petroleum Operations.
