PROTECTION OF CLASSIFIED INFORMATION. 1. The Parties shall take all appropriate measures to protect Classified Information referred to in this Agreement and shall provide for the necessary control of this protection. They shall afford such information at least the same protection as they afford to their own information at the corresponding classification level in accordance with their national laws and regulations.

Each Party shall have a security system and security measures in place based on the basic principles and minimum standards of security laid down in its respective laws and regu- lations, in order to ensure that an equivalent level of protection is applied to classified information. On request, each Party shall provide the other Party with information about its security standards, procedures and practices, including training, for safe- guarding classified information.
PROTECTION OF CLASSIFIED INFORMATION. 1. Competent authorities shall guarantee to each other the protection of the classified information supplied under this Agreement. The provisions of this Article shall not prejudice the application of other international treaties on the protection of classified information in force entered into by the Contracting Parties.
