Protecting the Environment. 7.1 Environmental Damage The Consultant shall satisfy itself that no product will be supplied or used in the Project which will endanger the health of the consumers or others, will cause significant damage to the environment during manufacture, use, or disposal, which consumes a disproportionate amount of energy during manufacture, use, or disposal, which causes unnecessary waste because of over-packaging or because of an unusually short shelf life, or which contains materials derived from threatened species or threatened environments. Compliance with the Regional Transportation Strategy Prior to commencement of the Contract and at such reasonable periods as the Employer may thereafter determine the Consultant shall demonstrate compliance with the policies and objectives of the Employer’s Regional Transport Strategy then in force, in particular in relation to the movement of persons and freight by the most environmentally acceptable manner reasonably practicable to ensure effective performance of the Contract.
