Proposed Work. The objectives and scope of initial borehole drilling and testing at Ignace is briefly summarized as follows, with details provided in the individual Test Plans for each work package.
Proposed Work. This section shall include a summary of work proposed as a rolling three (3) month forecast for the next reporting period, by a certain date, and by whom.
Proposed Work. The intent of the project is to provide the City of Xxxxxx with a “Toolbox” of maintenance and evaluation methods for sewer rehabilitation, evaluation, and/or eliminating groundwater inflow and infiltration in to the City’s collection system. The services shall include but not be limited to cleaning, CCTV Inspection, and annual evaluation and analysis of the sewer system for future rehab planning. The City may also use smoke testing and manhole inspections for further evaluation of the system. Rehabilitation tools may include CIPP, manhole rehabilitation by cementitious coating, chemical injection grouting, Cured-In-Place-Manhole (CIPM) liners or a combination thereof. Other rehabilitation services may include chemical grouting of pipe joints and lateral connections. It is the City’s intent to issue an annual purchase order based on the unit prices in this contract for approximately $200,000.00 to $300,000.00, pending yearly budget approval by the City Council. The City will provide a written scope of work for each individual purchase order. Each scope issued may not include all the items listed in this bid. The City does anticipate cleaning, CCTV inspections, and CIPP work to be a service requested each year. Services shall also include data reports in Access and/or Excel format, that shall allow the City to parse the data provided by the Contractor/Bidder by diameter, type pipe, type and severity of defect, priority of completion, etc. Said report(s) shall also include pertinent information regarding the project, a detailed analysis per line segment of CCTV inspection done that includes severity ratings, likelihood of failure, and indices for both structural and operation and maintenance severity ratings. It must include a summary of all totals noted on the CCTV project, including active and defective taps, likely point repairs, manholes that should be raised to grade, etc. with a budgetary format with estimated unit prices included. It should be further noted that said analysis and reports shall be the basis for future rehabilitation work on the sanitary system and are a critical component of the Contractor’s successful bid. All reports and deliverables (at project end), shall be per NASSCO PACP codes and standards.
Proposed Work. The grant proposal should indicate the areas of work needed in the development of a new IRWM plan or in the update of an existing IRWM plan. Work plan tasks are those that will be performed as part of the grant agreement. The work plan must contain as specific tasks the submittal of: quarterly progress reports, a final report, and other deliverables expected to be generated during performance of the proposal. The Work Plan must include the necessary tasks, and sub-tasks for each activity within the grant agreement. For each activity, a concise description of each task needed to complete the activity. Include the current status of each task with a brief overview of work already completed and work to be performed. The Work Plan must be categorized as follows: • Project AdministrationPlan Development or Update • IRWM Plan Outreach EXHIBIT B BUDGET‌ Table B is an example that provides an outline of a typical budget that may be submitted for this grant program. The budget must be consistent with the work plan and schedule. Table B must be completed as a summary or roll-up budget for the entire Work Plan. Proposed Work. The tactile transducer described above is very capable since it has the capacity to convey high-resolution tactile graphics to visually impaired users [31] (featured in the NewScientist, this device was also used in studies [32, 26]). We intend to initially carry out the proposed work with this readily-available system however its characteristics makes it ultimately unsuitable for the present program. This type of display operates by creating traction at the surface of the skin at small scale taking advantage of St-Venant’s principle. Lateral traction creates highly focused deformation inside the skin at a distance which is roughly half the distance between two ‘tractors’, targeting the skin mechanoreceptors located 0.5-0.7 mm beneath the skin. The doubly-cantileved design that allows us to use well-proven piezoelectric actuators also come with limitations that go beyond having to drive the display with high voltages. We also need to measure displacement and force at the skin surface. In other words we also need to use the system as an actuator as well as a sensor. It is in principle possible to do this with piezoelectric actuators but there is a more direct route to achieve this purpose.
Proposed Work. The applicant does not intend to employ this same apparatus in the proposed research but to develop a new one, based on similar principles, which is more capable, more flexible and above all, better suited to study the role of efference in haptic perception. A requirement for the new device to be developed is to no longer be limited to a single finger acting on a single nominally flat surface. We will design a new system that can provide force fields arbitrarily combined with displacement fields, not referenced to the mechanical ground, but between different fingers. The advantages of this new approach are multiple. First, the motor tasks will resemble better those that occur naturally since it is unusual to explore objects haptically with a single finger. Second, the muscle groups concerned are all located in the forearm and in the hand which provides better control and news opportunities to measure directly the motor output (the use of emg recordings is not part of this proprosal but collaborative opportuties will be sought). The design of a high-performance a device capable of specifying arbitrary force and displacement fields between two or three fingers is a considerable engineering challenge that can be achieved given the level of means that this grant, if accepted, would provide but which were never within reach of the applicant in the past.
