Promotions Outside the Unit. The state shall make a good faith effort to fill vacant positions in the rank immediately above the bargaining unit with employees of the bargaining unit. This provision is not subject to the Article 6 grievance procedure.
Promotions Outside the Unit. The hiring authority shall carefully consider employee applicants when filling vacant supervisory positions at the level immediately above bargaining unit positions. The State will make a good faith effort to fill vacant positions in the rank immediately above the bargaining unit with employees of the bargaining unit. However, the most qualified applicant will always be recommended by the hiring authority. This provision is not subject to the Article 6 grievance procedure.
Promotions Outside the Unit. 5.16 An employee may request to be considered for a posted position outside of the bargaining unit that would constitute a promotion by submitting an application on the forms provided by the District. Applications shall be transmitted through the Human Resources Office to the Superintendent/President and the appropriate department or division at which the application is directed.
