Promotional Probationary Periods. After successful completion of the promotional probationary period, the employee shall move up one (1) step on the salary scale.
Promotional Probationary Periods. An employee promoted in accordance with this Article shall serve a probationary period of six (6) months. For the purposes of this article, NAGE employees promoted within the same agency into a NAGE Unit 1, 3, or 6 position will be subject to the promotional probationary period and rights associated, with such probationary period as defined in Article 14.
Promotional Probationary Periods. Promotional employees shall serve a one (1) year probationary period. If the promoted employee does not perform to the satisfaction of the probationary performance appraisal and supervisor, they may return to the previous position and same pay as they had before the promotion. The College may extend the probationary period, provided the College indicates to the employee and the Lodge the reasons for the extension and provided the employee and the Lodge agree to the extension.

A probationary period for an employee may be extended by mutual agreement between the Union and Management. During a promotional probationary period, the Employer maintains the right to demote the employee to the classification that the employee previously held. Any such demotion shall not be appealable through the Grievance and Arbitration procedure herein contained or the State Personnel Board of Review. An employee's probationary period may be extended by a period equal to employee leaves of fourteen (14) consecutive days or longer, except for approved periods of vacation leave. E.g. disability leave, adoption/childbirth, or any other leaves of fourteen (14) consecutive days or longer shall not be counted toward the employee’s original or promotional probationary period. The Employer will not modify the duration of a probationary period of a classification without the agreement of the Union.

Promotional Probationary Periods. Section 7.4.1 Any permanent employee who is promoted to the rank of Sergeant will be considered as a “special probationary” employee, and must successfully complete a special probationary period before being permanently appointed to the new classification. A special probationary period will not exceed three hundred sixty- five (365) days.

Promotional Probationary Periods. Bargaining unit members who change job classifications shall serve an additional sixty (60) workday probationary period. Upon completion of the probationary period, the seniority shall be computed from the first date of hire. Based upon evaluation, the Board may determine that the bargaining unit member is not meeting the standards of quality and quantity normally expected of a qualified bargaining unit member in such a position. If such a determination is made, the bargaining unit member will be removed from the position and may return to his/her former position and rate of pay.
