Promotional Probationary Employee Sample Clauses

Promotional Probationary Employee. A regular employee serving a six (6) 11 month period of trial service upon promotion to determine his or her suitability for 12 continued employment in the classification to which he or she was promoted, such 13 period to begin on the date of his or her appointment to a higher classification from a 14 certified list of eligibles. During the period of promotional probation, the employee shall 15 be returned to the classification and department from which he or she was promoted 16 without recourse to the grievance procedure if, in the opinion of the employee’s 17 supervisor, his or her continued service in the classification to which he or she was 18 promoted would not be in the best interest of the County. The length of promotional 19 probationary period for employees promoted prior to the effective date of this 20 Agreement shall not be affected by the terms of this definition.

Promotional Probationary Employee. Any reference to a “promotional probationary employee” in this Agreement shall mean an employee who has successfully completed a probationary period in any position with the City of Medford but who has been appointed to a higher position within the bargaining unit and who is required to serve a probationary period as defined in Section 14.3 of this Agreement. Regular Full-time Employee. Any reference to a “regular fulltime employee” in this Agreement shall mean an employee, including an employee on probation, who is regularly scheduled to work 40 hours per week. Regular Part-time Employee. Any reference to a “regular part-time employee” in this Agreement shall mean an employee who is regularly scheduled to work 25 or more hours per week, but less than 40 hours per week. A regular fulltime employee may request a reduction in hours and qualify for regular part-time status. The department head, Human Resources Director and City Manager shall approve or deny such request within 30 calendar days.
