Promotional Compensation. A unit member permanently assigned by the Agency to a position compensated at a higher salary range than his/her present range shall be deemed to have been promoted, and shall be placed at a step that corresponds to his preparation, education, and experience for the new position at the appropriate salary range for the position classification to which the unit member has been promoted.

Promotional Compensation. Employees promoted to a higher TOSSC grade level will not be offered a promotional salary any higher than the midpoint of the new grade’s range. If the employee’s current salary is above the midpoint of the new range, the pay for the employee shall be increased by six (6) percent. Promotional increases will be based upon factors such as the candidate’s match to the required and preferred qualifications for the position. In the event that the employee voluntarily returns to their previous position during the probationary period as defined in section 9.4, the employee’s pay will be adjusted to the level they would have been in absence of the promotion.
