Promotion/Demotion. I. Promotion -97 A "promotion" is defined as the movement of an Employee to a higher grade level. An Employee promoted one grade level shall receive a minimum salary increase of five (5) percent or be placed at the minimum rate for the new level, whichever is greater. An Employee promoted two or more grade levels shall receive a minimum salary increase of ten (10) percent or placed at the minimum rate for the new grade level, whichever is greater. The Employer is not prohibited from giving APA Employees salary increases that exceed these minimums.

Promotion/Demotion. Any unit member receiving a promotion under the provisions of this Agreement shall be moved to the appropriate range and step of the new class to ensure a minimum of an approximately ten percent (10%) increase as a result of that promotion, not to exceed the top step of the range to which the unit member is promoted. The step placement will be made based on the rates in effect on the date the promotion is effective. In cases where a unit member seeks a voluntary demotion, or where there is mutual agreement between the District and the unit member concerning a demotion, the affected unit member shall be placed on the salary step that most closely matches the unit member's current salary without a loss in pay.
Promotion/Demotion. 1. Whenever an employee is promoted from one class or title to a class or title with a higher salary range, his/her base salary shall be increased by $2,000. However, no employee shall be placed on the higher range at a salary less than the minimum or greater than the maximum for that range.

DEMOTION ‐165 A "demotion" is defined as the movement of an Employee to a lower grade level other than by reclassification. The pay rate of an Employee who is demoted will be reduced by five (5%) percent if the grade level is lowered one grade level and ten (10%) percent or more if the grade level is lowered two (2) or more grade levels. The Employer may make exceptions to this provision when deemed appropriate.
Promotion/Demotion. Release In the promotion, transfer, demotion, or release of employees, the seniority shall be the deciding factor if experience and required qualifications are relatively equal. Where the most senior applicant lacks the formal qualifications but has the required work experience, shall be awarded the position.
Promotion/Demotion. If an Employee is promoted to a higher classification, the Employer shall have the right to demote said Employee during the first ninety (90) calendar days from the date of promotion, the probationary period of a Mixer, Press Operator and QC shall be one hundred twenty (120) days.
