Project Governance. Project Governance. Florida State University will, in coordination with the University of Florida and Los Alamos National Laboratory, assume overall responsibility for the planning, operation and scientific and technical management of the NHMFL…The overall mission of the NHMFL is to provide high magnetic field facilities, instrumentation and necessary services for research conducted by users from various disciplines, including, but not limited to; physics, chemistry, materials science, engineering, and the biological sciences. Access to the NHMFL is based on review of competitive proposals. Proposals shall be considered on the basis of scientific and technical merit and on broader implication of the work proposed as defined in the NSF Merit Review Criteria.
Project Governance. As a consortium of universities and the manager of the NSO, AURA has the responsibility to engage the solar physics and related sciences community, including universities and the broader scientific community, in its governance, planning and program implementation. Strong involvement of the external community is essential for effective NSO science and facility planning, especially on longer time scales. This engagement occurs in many ways, including but not limited to: briefings and breakout sessions at the Annual Members Meeting; external community membership on AURA governance councils; ad hoc conferences and workshops; on-line publications and surveys, and broad community surveys.
Project Governance. This project will be collectively governed by the AESS Executive Steering Committee (Steering Committee). All work activites related to the project will be managed by the AESS Project Team (APT or Project Team), which is managed by the AESS Project Team Director (County Project Director), who reports to the Steering Committee. Each Participating Department will have a Project Manager, who will report to the AESS Project Team Director. Business and technical personnel from each Participating Department will participate, under the direction of their respective Project Manager.
Project Governance. The Project organizational structure and Project reporting relationships are depicted in Exhibit A: Project Organization Chart of this SOW. The Project Organization Chart represents how the Project will be functionally managed. No administrative reporting relationships are hereby implied. Department roles may be delegated at the sole discretion of the Department. The Project governance structure will be validated by Department and Provider leadership during the Plan Phase. The project governance structure and the information in Exhibit A of this SOW creates no obligations to the Provider and confers no rights on the Provider, and the State of Florida reserves the right to revise the project governance structure and Exhibit A of this SOW to reflect any changes made to the roles or relationships underlying that information. The Department’s Project governance structure project roles and description will be developed and individual representatives identified by name in the Project Management Plan (PMP).
