Project Employees. Project employees who have not held permanent civil service status within the job classification, will not volunteer for or be assigned overtime work outside of the project. Required overtime within a project may first be assigned to qualified employees within the project by seniority. The process for assigning the overtime will follow the procedures outlined in this Article.

Project Employees. New employees hired for the duration of a specific federally or state-funded project or projects shall be subject to a three-month probationary provision and then considered as annual employees for the duration of their employment project. When a project continues into the next fiscal year, the continued employment of project employees is subject to the management decision to reappoint any or all such employees. Continued employment from one fiscal year to the next is not automatic. A management decision not to reappoint shall not be grievable or arbitrable. These employees will be entitled to all rights and benefits provided for full-time probationary/permanent employees in this Agreement, except that termination due to expiration of the employment project shall not be subject to appeal. Every effort will be made to provide permanent employment for these personnel. Personnel terminated due to project expiration will not retain any rights of rehiring and may be rehired as temporary or permanent employees, without regard to length of employment or order of termination.
Project Employees. Any person regularly employed by the Board, who is assigned to work with a project funded from sources other than the state and local tax sources, shall retain all the rights and privileges and accrue all rights and privileges as if he/she had remained in his/her original position. These persons employed specifically for the purposes of working in a project that is funded from sources other than state and local tax sources shall accrue all rights and privileges as any other person employed in the regular program but shall not be entitled to continue employment with the school system, if the program in which he/she works is discontinued. If such person is reassigned in the regular program, with no lapse of time, he/she shall be entitled to retain all the rights and privileges accrued under the program funded.
Project Employees. The County may employ project employees for long term but limited duration projects for up to eighteen months on a full time basis. Project employees shall receive full benefits but shall otherwise be excluded from the provisions of this Agreement and shall not be entitled to bump or displace covered employees when laid off at the conclusion of the project.
Project Employees. A new "project employee" shall be considered a regular employee whose terms and conditions of employment, salary rate and treatment at the termination of the project shall be the subject of specific written arrangements between the employee and the Employer prior to the start of employment on the project. Such arrangements shall be revealed to the Union before signature, and shall not exceed two years in duration. Extension shall be subject to mutual agreement between the parties. If the duration of the project is expected to be less than two years, a termination bonus, benefit or other monetary consideration, if any, shall be specified in the written arrangements described above. When a regular employee becomes a "project employee", the employee shall be deemed to be on leave of absence without pay from the employee's regular position until termination of the project, except that the employee shall continue to accumulate service seniority during the project. Upon termination of the project the employee shall return to the employee's former or equivalent position within the Public Service. An applicant who is being considered for a project position shall be advised to visit the Union for any assistance it may wish to extend in preparing the written arrangements. In addition, an outside applicant shall be given a copy of this Agreement.

Project Employees. The provisions of this Section shall apply to Project Employees, except that said provisions shall only apply as between Project Employees.
Project Employees. Procedures for employing Project employees shall be developed mutually by M-DCPS and DCSAA which shall include but not be limited to the terms of the individual contract for these employees. When the School Board hires project employees, the School Board will advise the employee and the Union at the time of employment, specifically which projects the employee will be assigned and the duration of the employee’s assignment. When the employee has completed the assigned projects, the employee’s employment status with the School Board shall be terminated. Nothing, however, prevents the School Board from assigning additional projects to the employee as long as the employee is terminated at the conclusion of the projected date of completion of the original project(s). When a project(s) continues into the next fiscal year, the continued employment of the project employee is subject to the management decision to reappoint such employee. Project Employees. 1. The Employer may establish project positions for which the assigned work is contingent upon state, federal, local, grant, or other special funding of specific and/or of time-limited duration. Project positions will be identified as such and the Employer will notify employees appointed to project positions, in writing, of the expected end date of the project employment.
