Common use of Prohibited Grounds Clause in Contracts

Prohibited Grounds. The Company and the Union agree that discrimination and/or harassment of any employee because of race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, political belief, religion, marital status, family status, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation or age of that person or because that person has been convicted of a criminal or summary conviction offense that is unrelated to the employment or to the intended employment of that person is absolutely prohibited. Every employee has the right to work in an environment, free from discrimination and harassment including sexual harassment based on the above stated prohibited grounds. Action contravening this policy will constitute grounds for corrective actions.
