Progression/retention-related activities. While the University of Bristol’s overall track record in student retention is strong, we will increase investment in activities which provide support for the specific challenges which students from widening participation backgrounds often face in making the transition to university-level study by £0.22m – from £0.4m per annum in 2011/12 to £0.62m by the time we reach steady state in 2016/17. While the University has a strong track record in the area of student retention, we recognise that students from widening participation backgrounds often face specific challenges in making the transition to university level study and that this is reflected in higher than average withdrawal rates for a number of under represented groups. We currently invest £2.1m p.a. in student welfare services and £1.2m p.a. in student careers and employability support. In 2011/12, a further £0.4m was allocated to initiatives specifically designed to provide support in the area of retention of students from under-represented groups. We now plan to increase this by around £0.22m (to £0.62m by the time we reach steady state in 2016/17) in order to: 8 Organisations with whom students are working include Bristol Libraries, the Bristol Drugs Project and the National Autistic Society. • Expand our peer mentoring and peer assisted study programmes, which have been successfully piloted in two faculties. • Review university-level induction and transition support more widely to ensure that students from non-traditional backgrounds continue to be as well supported as possible. • Enhance our student support provision to ensure it meets the needs of under- represented groups effectively.   • Continuing Professional Development The Official Agency shall provide appropriate training for staff performing official controls, enabling them to undertake their duties competently and to carry out official controls in a consistent manner, as per legislative requirements. The Official Agency shall identify training needs for staff performing official controls and ensure that staff carrying out official controls are kept up to date in their area of competence and develop specialised expertise, in partnership with the Authority and other Local Authorities. While the provision of training is the primary responsibility of the Official Agency, the Authority may provide training interventions where the Official Agency has highlighted areas where training is required. The Authority will endeavour to facilitate networking and collaboration with other Official Agencies to assist in improving knowledge in such areas. The Authority will provide e-learning resources and training for official control staff so as to promote a consistent understanding and application of new legislation, guidance or procedures, as appropriate. The Official Agency shall support participants in using e-learning resources, disseminating knowledge or skills acquired and encourage the application of learning gained through the Authority’s training in official control activities. The Official Agency shall ensure that contractors used in the performance of the Service Contract provide evidence of Continuous Professional Development and Compliance with this section. Where staff from the Official Agency need to travel outside the Official Agency functional area to attend training courses/meetings, this shall be facilitated by the Official Agency. The Official Agency in partnership with the Authority shall develop and implement training programmes for all staff engaged in the performance of the Service Contract. Where staff have participated in Better Training for Safer Food (BTSF) the training content shall be disseminated to relevant staff/contractors in the Official Agency and other local authorities in partnership with the Authority.

  • Contractual and Operational Compliance Audits (a) ICANN may from time to time (not to exceed twice per calendar year) conduct, or engage a third party to conduct, contractual compliance audits to assess compliance by Registry Operator with its representations and warranties contained in Article 1 of this Agreement and its covenants contained in Article 2 of this Agreement.
