Professional Development Opportunities. Covered administrators will have access to the same credit reimbursement opportunities provided the other certificated personnel in the district. They will also have access to $500 per year to attend professional development event(s) that aligns with their annual goals. Funds may be carried over to a maximum of $2000. For the term of this agreement administrators covered by this agreement may individually elect to utilize these funds to cash out one (1) additional day of unused vacation leave in lieu of using these funds for professional development
Professional Development Opportunities. The District and the Association agree to work together to explore ways to ensure that there are ample opportunities for principals and Central Office administrators to review and address areas of mutual interests, i.e. workload, effective communication, optimizing working relationships, etc.
Professional Development Opportunities. The University of Worcester delivers training to all stakeholders. The range and scope of training changes to meet the needs of the partnership in response to the continuing change in the ITT criteria. Active mentors should be ‘new mentor trained’ through the University of Worcester and the expectation is that active mentors should attend school briefings (autumn and spring). Training for school staff offers a programme which includes: Induction/training for all new mentors. Training/development for each school placement. Internal and external moderation processes. Opportunities to participate in and deliver the training programme and other events as expert colleagues. Opportunities to be part of the trainee recruitment process. Opportunities to be part of subject coordination groups. Knowledge and research exchanges performed between university subject tutors and mentors.
Professional Development Opportunities. A. Each year a teacher may voluntarily participate in approved professional development hours provided by the Board beyond the normal workday. Teachers are required to sign in to verify attendance.

Teachers are encouraged to include the following in the selection of PD opportunities: Meeting with an accomplished person in education or other fields who shares extensive knowledge with the teacher over an extended period of time and recording the highlights of the discussions. Watching other accomplished people in education or other fields as they work, making notes of instructional practices or subject knowledge for future use in the teacher’s classroom. Meeting with education leaders or accomplished people in education or other fields for feedback as the teacher begin to apply knowledge and skills to student learning. Completing a university course, technical college course, summer seminar, or distance-learning course related to the teacher’s goal. Trying a new instructional approach and documenting the results with the view of sharing the findings with the teacher’s colleagues. Attending scheduled sessions (with AISWA or other relevant professional bodies) that may advance the teacher’s professional growth. Attending or presenting at a national conference or participating in national web-talk that may advance the teacher’s professional growth. Participating in study groups that provide additional information or collegial support to the teacher. Participating in professional readings, viewing of media, and website searches to locate and record new content knowledge, resources, and instructional strategies that can be immediately used by the teacher in the classroom. Teacher Commitment to PD The PDP constitutes a teacher’s commitment to undertake the stated professional development and to strive to achieve the objectives in the PDP. Professional Development Opportunities. 1. Professional Development: Employees covered by this Agreement will be required to work an additional twenty (20) hours of professional development each school year. These days will be scheduled on the school calendar no later than September 15th of each school year. When professional development is scheduled after school, it shall begin at the end of the student day.

RTLB study awards The Ministry will support newly appointed RTLB, and those RTLB that have not had access to the RTLB study awards previously, to attain the RTLB qualification. This will include the payment of tuition fees and a contribution to travel and accommodation costs if the RTLB cluster is located more from 120km from block courses. Newly appointed RTLB must be degree qualified to enrol in the Post- Graduate Diploma Professional Development Forums Within existing and available resources, the Ministry / Te Mahau will facilitate regional events for Ministry staff, Cluster Managers and/or Practice Leaders for service planning and/or professional development. The Ministry will organise, facilitate, and fund an annual national forum for Lead School Principals and Cluster Managers.
