Professional Development Compensation. ‌ Any full-time employee may be compensated for specific costs associated with job-related professional development, professional memberships, and professional licensure. The maximum compensation is $150 per fiscal year. Professional Development compensation is a taxable benefit based upon professional benefits to the employee and to the District. Employees may use their discretion in applying for the following eligible items: • Membership fees/dues for job related professional organizations • Education tuition and fees • Professional license renewal fees • Job-related certifications Employees must incur the expense and submit the Professional Development Compensation Form with appropriate receipt(s) to director/supervisor for approval. To be eligible under educational tuition and job-related certification, the course/test must be successfully completed, which is defined as passing by the institution being attended or the accrediting body.
Professional Development Compensation. All teachers, either full or part time, may elect to participate in School District-sponsored professional development activities outside of the regular contract work day/year. These program activities may be approved by the School Board and will reflect the School District’s priorities for improving educational programming at either the school or system level. Teachers who successfully complete these programs will earn the equivalent of one (1) credit for each ten (10) hours of professional development course time. These accrued credits shall qualify the teacher for advancement on the salary schedule in accordance with existing procedures for column advancement.

The Board will authorize the Superintendent to pay up to fifty percent (50%)* of the costs of tuition for graduate credits earned from accredited Michigan colleges or universities for course work approved in advance by the Superintendent of Schools. Professional Development Compensation. The City shall allow time off with pay and shall pay all expenses of attending classes, lectures, conferences, or conventions, when attendance is on an assignment basis and approved by the City Manager/designee, as set forth in the City’s Professional Development, Travel, and Meals policy. Studying or preparing for classes, lectures, conferences, or conventions shall not be allowed on work time. Employees who are required to attend out-of-town training, either by the department supervisor or as required by the City to maintain required job-related certifications/licenses, will be paid for the travel time outside of their normal schedule, consistent with Oregon Administrative Rule 839-020-0045. Travel time for required local training will also be paid if it exceeds the normal commute time the employee experiences traveling to and from work. If this time causes them to exceed forty (40) hours in a week, it will be paid at the applicable overtime rate or employees may flex their schedule to compensate for the hours. However, if it is foreseeable the travel time will cause the employee to exceed forty (40) hours in a workweek, the employee must receive the City’s approval of the overtime. Meals shall be reimbursed according to the City’s Professional Development, Travel, and Meals Policy. Employees who voluntarily attend training that is approved by the City during the employee’s normal work schedule shall only be compensated for their normal work schedule.
Professional Development Compensation. 1. Effective the 2012-2013 school year each employee shall have the opportunity to attend and be compensated for professional development activities beyond the school day/year at the hourly rate of 1/1000 of Group I, Step 1. Professional Development activities attended during the week prior to the commencement of the school year shall be paid at the hourly rate of the subsequent school year.
Professional Development Compensation. Licensed educators who take on the additional responsibility, at the request of the District, to provide professional development to the staff of the District that is outside of their job description will be compensated $20 per hour for preparation and development time outside of the professional work day and $25 per hour for the presentation itself. Each hour of presentation will warrant two (2) hours of preparation and development time outside of the professional work day. Licensed educators will be considered for professional development presentations based on their exhibited skill sets in their role in the District, their education, and their attained professional development. If District reimbursement or payment is made for the attained education or professional development, communication will occur prior to the learning as to the expectation of sharing the learning with the staff of the District and the effect that might have on the professional development compensation.
