Professional Development Allowance. 55.1 The CEO may, subject to this clause, approve the reimbursement or payment of financial assistance to a Science and Engineering Professional employee to offset professional development costs.

Professional Development Allowance. The Board shall pay an allowance for Professional Development into the Professional Development Fund in ten (10) monthly installments as established in Article F.22.
Professional Development Allowance. This section shall not apply to Units TM1 and U41; the subject matter is addressed in Article 18 for represented employees in these units. The City will reimburse represented employees for professional development expenses in the amounts listed below. Professional development includes but not limited to such items as books, subscriptions to professional journals or magazines, dues to professional organizations that are related to current employment, registration, application or examination fees for registration or certification within his/her profession, and expenses related to professional development including research and training, conferences and associated travel expenses. Requests for reimbursement must be submitted with receipts in aggregate amounts of at least twenty-five dollars ($25). All receipts for reimbursement must be submitted before the end of each fiscal year, and by June 1, if feasible. A represented employee may defer the entire amount of professional development reimbursement in one fiscal year and receive two years of reimbursement in the following fiscal year.
Professional Development Allowance. 20.01 Effective July 1, 2010, the University will provide a professional development fund of $35,000 annually, in addition to the allowance provided in Article 20.02. All Employees will be eligible to apply for allocations from this fund in accordance with the policies and procedures developed by the Vice-President (Academic and Research) in consultation with the Senate Research Committee.

The City recognizes the unique nature of the work performed by the members of the bargaining unit and the benefit to the City as a result of each member's participation in professional organizations and technical societies, and recognizes the expenses involved in member's attempts to stay current in their particular professional, technical, and supervisory fields. The annual Professional Development Allowance shall be in the amount of five hundred fifty dollars ($550.00), with no amount reserved as a credit. Payment shall be made on or before July 1st by separate check. For 2015 only, because the members have already received $450, the additional $100 will be payable within 30 days of ratification.
