PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING. 14.01 The County agrees to provide professional counseling services, such as the current Employee Assistance Program ("EAP"), to bargaining unit members and their families. When the employee seeks counseling, all matters relating to counseling shall remain confidential and shall not be released to the County unless approved by the employee. However, in cases of supervisory referrals or other requests by the County that the employee seek professional counseling, whether through the EAP or otherwise, including drug and alcohol counseling, counseling information shall be provided to the County, upon its request to the counselor or the employee. This information, however, is limited to program attendance records, program compliance issues, and completion reports. In addition, all counseling records will be subject to disclosure in the event of arbitration involving the employee, if the records are relevant to the issue(s) being arbitrated.

In the event an employee volunteers for assistance, each employee’s situation will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. When the employee voluntarily seeks counseling, all matters relating to counseling shall remain confidential and shall not be released to the County unless approved by the employee or as required by law. However, the results and reports may be disclosed in any arbitration or litigation involving the employee.

Both the State and the Union encourage interpreters to complete training and continuing education activities.

  • Counselors A. Newly ordered file cabinets for Counselors will have locks. No Counselors shall be held accountable, unless through their own negligence, for the loss of school records unless there is a secure place for storage.

  • Professional Dues The school district will pay the annual dues for the Superintendent’s membership in the American Association of School Administrators, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and Nebraska Council of School Administrators. The Superintendent’s membership in other professional organizations will be considered annually and may be approved at the discretion of the school board.
