Probationary Experience. At the time of the offer of an initial tenure-track appointment, or at the time a faculty member on another appointment status acquires a tenure-track Board appointment, the probationary faculty member shall be advised of the following in the letter of offer as approved by the xxxxxxx: the areas of evaluation, the department criteria, and the University procedures employed in decisions effecting tenure as provided in the collective bargaining agreement and the Department Policy Statement. Faculty members shall serve a probationary period which shall not exceed six (6) consecutive recognized years (see 17.§2.4.1 and 17.§2.4.2) of full-time tenure-track appointment, or the equivalent thereof. Credit may be given for full-time service at the rank of instructor or higher at Western or in other accredited institutions of higher learning. Allowance may be made for other appropriate and comparable professional service. Allowance for prior service in either instance, or both combined, shall not exceed four (4) years. The exact number of years remaining in the probationary period at Western shall be stipulated in writing and approved by the xxxxxxx at the time of the initial tenure-track appointment.

  • Military Experience If honorably discharged, including a general discharge under honorable conditions, credit for pay purposes shall be granted for up to four years of active military duty in the armed forces of the United States of America. This credit will be granted upon receipt of the employee’s DD 214 by Employment Services.

  • Probationary Employment 4.2.1(a) An employer may initially engage a full-time or part-time employee for a period of probationary employment for the purpose of determining the employee's suitability for ongoing employment.   • Recognition for Past Experience All RNs hired during the term of this Agreement shall be given full credit (year for year) for continuous recent experience when placed on the wage scale. For the purpose of this section, continuous recent experience as a registered nurse shall be defined as clinical nursing experience in an accredited hospital or skilled nursing facility (including temporary employment with an employer) without a break in nursing experience that would reduce the level of nursing skills in the opinion of the Employer.

  • Probationary Appointment 20.03.01 A probationary appointment shall be for one year. During that year performance judged to be unsatisfactory shall be just cause for termination of the probationary appointment pursuant to 20.03.03.
