Probationary Apprentices. The minimum wage rate for Probationary Apprentices shall be the percentage of Journeyman's wage as stated below: 0000 - 0900 hours 50% The Employer may hire Probationary Apprentices subject to the provisions of this Agreement, but in no case shall the ratio of Probationary Apprentices exceed one Probationary Apprentice for every two Apprentices. All Probationary Apprentices shall only do work not customarily done by Indentured Apprentices.

Probationary Apprentices. Probationary Apprentices shall be subject to a mandatory probationary period of four hundred and eighty (480) regular hours. (See Article 7:03) The minimum wage rate for Probationary Apprentices shall be fifty percent (50%) of the Journeyman base rate. Employer contributions on behalf of Probationary Apprentices shall be made to the Apprenticeship and Training Fund. Employer contributions on behalf of all other Apprentices shall be made to the Health and Welfare, Pension and Apprenticeship and Training Funds. The Employer may hire Probationary Apprentices subject to the provisions of this Agreement, but in no case shall the ratio of Probationary Apprentices exceed one Probationary Apprentice for every two Apprentices. All Probationary Apprentices may do work not customarily done by Indentured Apprentices.
Probationary Apprentices. A new classification of probationary apprentice shall be established as of November 1, 1999 and shall be paid at forty percent (40%) of the journeyperson’s rate. The probationary apprentice shall receive 8% Vacation and Statutory Holiday Pay and the standard BC medical coverage as soon as coverage is allowed under the government’s regulations. Employees in this classification shall work for 1600 hours and then a deci- sion will be made whether the employee continues in the trade either as a material handler or a registered apprentice. The probationary apprentice shall be regis- tered with Sheet Metal Workers Local 280 and shall meet all the requirements of a person applying to be a sheet metal apprentice, but shall not be registered by the Sheet Metal Industry Training Board until 1600 hours have been worked.

  • APPRENTICES 6.36.1 The Contractor acknowledges and agrees that, if this Contract involves a dollar amount greater than or a number of working days greater than that specified in Labor Code Section 1777.5, this Contract is governed by the provisions of Labor Code Section 1777.5. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to ensure compliance with this Article and with Labor Code Section 1777.5 for all apprenticeable occupations.

  • Apprentice Wages (a) Apprentices’ rates of pay are set out in Appendix B which includes the description of the calculations.
