Probation Department. 6.3.1 The Probation File consists of a legal size file folder containing documents related to the investigation and supervision activities performed by a Deputy Probation Officer while investigating or supervising the defendant/minor.
Probation Department. Requests for vacation are to be approved by the immediate supervisor. The Probation Department has discretion to limit the number of staff on vacation at any one time. At certain times, especially during June through August, December, and extreme staffing shortages, the department may place a department-wide restriction on vacation usage. Should the department determine that a limitation on vacation is necessary, the Department will announce the restriction as soon as practicable. When restrictions on vacation usage apply, requests will be processed by departmental seniority.
Probation Department. The Probation Department will issue uniforms to Supervising Crew Instructors. Only specific articles of uniforms that Management requires employees to wear shall be furnished. The number, type, and style of uniform to be issued will be determined at a Departmental Joint Labor Management Committee.

A primary focus of Probation is to promote public safety by guiding individuals to make sustainable, productive lifestyle changes. Probation investigates, evaluates, supervises and through progressive intervention provides structure to individuals with the goal of having them meet their court obligations and become responsible contributing members of society.

Probation Department. Any minor booked into the Juvenile Hall is assessed during the admission process. Should the minor be determined to meet CSEC criteria based on either the booking charge, or admission investigation process, a Suspected Child Abuse Report (SCAR) will be completed. The SCAR will be forwarded to both Child Welfare Services and the appropriate Law Enforcement Agency having jurisdiction over the suspected CSEC matter. Should the minor require any medical or therapeutic services while detained which are not available in custody, Juvenile Hall Staff will ensure transportation to those services are provided. Probation will collaborate with other agencies to ensure a service plan is in place prior to releasing the minor from Juvenile Hall and consider the elements of the CSEC matter in determining whether the filing of a WIC 602 petition should be requested.
