Common use of Privacy Officer Clause in Contracts

Privacy Officer. The person designated by the Privacy and Security Official or one of the District of Columbia’s designated health care components, who is responsible for overseeing compliance with the Covered Agency’s Privacy Policies and Procedures, the HIPAA Privacy Regulations, HIPAA Security Regulations and other applicable federal and state privacy law(s). The Covered Agency’s privacy officer shall follow the guidance of the District’s Privacy and Security Official, and shall be responsive to and report to the District’s Privacy and Security Official on matters pertaining to HIPAA compliance.
