Premium Holidays. Any employee required to work on a premium holiday (Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day), shall be paid at the rate of time plus one-half (1-1/2) for all hours worked on the holiday plus his/her regular pay for the day, unless the employee wishes compensatory time in lieu of the day's pay.

If the spouse is required to pay forty (40%) percent or more of the premium with his/her employer, the requirements of this section shall not apply. Premium Holidays. If an employee is required to work on one of the holidays below, or if the holiday is celebrated on one of the employee's regular days off, he/she shall receive eight (8) hours of annual leave and be paid at a rate of time and one-half for each hour actually worked on such holidays; provided, an employee assigned to work ten (10) hour shifts shall receive ten (10) hours of annual leave and be paid at a rate of time and one-half (1/2) for each hour actually worked on such holidays. Employees working outside of their regularly assigned shift, who would be receiving overtime absent the premium holiday, will receive time and one-half times time and one-half for a total of two and one quarter times (2.25) their regular rate of pay in accordance with past practice.
