Preliminary Design Report. A Preliminary Engineering Report will be prepared for preliminary design, and the purpose of the report is to document the goals stated above. The report should also include as applicable: a narrative, applicable plans, survey, drainage report, a geotechnical report, preliminary cost estimate, and an environmental report. Three copies of the report will be submitted for review. Prior to completion of the PER, we will schedule an alignment meeting with Fort Bend County. We will provide a roll plot exhibit to the meeting for County review and discussion. At completion of the PER, a PER review meeting will be conducted by the design engineer and program manager. Copies of the PER will be distributed at the meeting.

Preliminary Design Report. Prepare a Preliminary Design Report: The consultant shall establish and indicate project specific design criteria and standards within the Preliminary Design Report. The consultant shall submit all design assumptions for pipe sections, and storm sewer locations, pavement sections, etc. The Consultant shall include design life, design criteria, and reference of design resources. The Consultant shall use the City Infrastructure Design Criteria Manual to establish design criteria and standards. The Preliminary Design Report shall include evaluations and recommendations based on items outlined under the heading “Project Design and Evaluation Components” above. The project’s geotechnical report shall be included within the Preliminary Project Design Report and include soil classifications, N values, water levels, proctors, CBR’s, pavement design, and testing recommendations. The Consultant shall elaborate on other project components as necessary. A probable opinion of construction costs for the project shall be included. The costs shall be itemized based on the City’s standard bid items in three separate schedules, one for each individual project. The cost will also include appropriate contingency item allowance. The consultant shall establish and indicate project specific design criteria and standards within the Preliminary Design Report. The City’s Infrastructure Design Criteria Manual shall be used to establish design criteria and standards. The Preliminary Design Report shall provide review of compliance with City’s Standard Specifications for construction of the project(s). Identify the existing right-of-way (ROW) location and any ROW or easements necessary for the Project. Include size and extent of such ROW and easements and contact information of property owners. Submit one (1) copy and a PDF version of the Preliminary Design Report and preliminary plans and specifications to City of Rapid City’s project manager for review and comment.
Preliminary Design Report. ENGINEER will prepare a preliminary design report (PDR) that documents basis of design for the backwash pump station. Preliminary Design Report. (PDR) Xxxxxx Xxxxxxx May 17, 2021 FIRM will produce a draft PDR combining previous workshop summaries to document the findings of previous Tasks/Subtasks and provide preliminary equipment layout drawings, along with a general narrative of the design. The FIRM will develop the proposed electrical loads associated with the project. The FIRM will develop the proposed control strategies for the proposed process systems. The FIRM will develop P&IDs to depict the design and control concept for the proposed components. The drawings will constitute a 30% design level. The FIRM will provide quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) review prior to submittal to the City. The FIRM will review permitting requirements with the local permitting agencies and summarize the findings in the PDR. The FIRM will attend one meeting with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), along with City staff, if required. Preliminary Design Report. This task provides for development and preparation of the project Preliminary Design Report (PDR). The PDR will serve as the foundation for detailed design (Task 5) and will incorporate findings and recommendations from Task 2. The Feasibility Study indicated that, generally, the open field northwest of the existing Airport Reservoir (Reservoir A) is suitable for construction of a new tank of up to 2.38 MG (Reservoir B). This scope assumes that the findings of the geotechnical investigation (Task 2) do not significantly alter the conceptual design criteria presented in the Feasibility Study. The PDR will evaluate and make preliminary design recommendations for developing the new Zone 2 Reservoir B site including temporary and permanent site access, site security, land area required for both temporary construction and permanent uses, above and below grade piping, tank instrumentation and controls, tank mixing requirements, lighting, grading, drainage, and visual impacts. Storm runoff from the existing Reservoir A site is currently conveyed to riparian drainage channel(s) adjacent to the site and/or is collected onto other Airport/City property. This scope assumes that the existing storm drainage piping and riparian drainage channels have sufficient reserve capacity to receive additional runoff from the Reservoir B site, design of new storm drainage piping will not be required, and conveying storm runoff from the Reservoir B site in this way will not result in significant environmental impacts. If additional storm drain design or environmental impact support is required, an additional scope of work will be prepared as part of Optional Task 9 (Additional Permitting or Support Services). The PDR will include layouts for the Reservoir B site, including proposed improvements, piping alignments, and elevations and sections as appropriate to demonstrate design intent at this stage. The Feasibility Study determined that a circular prestressed concrete tank (AWWA D110) will be required to meet the geometric constraints of the proposed Reservoir B site and is the most cost-effective alternative; consideration of other tank types/materials and preparation of a life-cycle cost estimate is excluded from this task.
